U need a second shallow only boat. I ve ssen these hybrid boats. They fall short in checking all the boxes.

As a boat broker on the Chesapeake Bay I wouldn't recommend going with the Pathfinder or the Sea Pro. The Scout has a higher freeboard, deeper V hull, and is a much better suited boat for when it gets rough out there which happens pretty much every week. The Pathfinder and Sea Pro shown in this video are calm water bay boats. Meaning Jersey Shore Bay. Not Chesapeake Bay. Big difference in how rough the water gets out there between the 2.

There a ton of bay boats to sort through, ive also noticed i see very few but plenty of bass boats on the upper bay. Im guessing with Chesapeake and hull design the ability to handel off shore (chesapeake slop) should be the foremost criteria. I heard the dnr purchased 20 or so 240 everglades with 300 hp.

Pathfinder may tide nice but lack in finish details. Prime example is Pathfinder doesn’t through through bolt consoles, hatches, cleats or cooler seat mounts. Also you should consider the Grady 251. It may cost more but holds it value better than most other brands.

According to the Grady White website the Coastal Explorer 251 has a draft of 14”.

Coastal Va owner, Don't count out a Crevalle, Shearwater and, Blackjack... Right there with the Scout... Another is the 21-24 Croswait. Super bay boat, 9'6"beam.. check em all out..
