Bob Costas is the best MLB historian and commentator by far. It’s so kind for me to him remembering the greatness of Roberto Clemente as he evaluated who is or was the best. I agree Mays is above Clemente… but the Boricua wasn’t far away.

Visited Rickwood Field earlier in the year, the not-so-secret to this commemorative game...is MLB has not put-up any money for this event. All the stadium renovations to meet MLB requirements and updates, was paid by the City of Birmingham and Friends of Rickwood Field. MLB didn't not offer any loan, forward any funds or, provide any grants...dugouts had to be rebuilt eliminating seats, electrical had to be updated, seating all changed, club houses updated and carpeted and interior spaces updated and made available to MLB.

Great words on Willie Mays. Bob Costas is incredible when speaking on a legend, such as Mr. Mays, or Stan Musial and Mickey Mantle. Unfortunately, Mr. Costas in one of his unhinged, liberal discourses, is full of more baloney than Howard Cosell on his worse day. Speaking about professional sports legends is a Costas powerhouse!

Let me guess, When He was young his dad took him to a game and said "See that man? That's Willie Mays, the Greatest player Who ever lived!, Then He folded up his betting sheet that smelled of Aqua Velva and put it in his lapel and fed the family for a week after unsung hero Louie Laperno hit a triple in the 9th that grazed Willie's Glove and scored Duke Snider from 1st...Pops Third favorite Greatest CF of all time only behind Mickey and Willie"
