Fantastic interview. Rich and Bob. I can listen to this duo for hours. As for Vin, just adored him and his stories. Even my wife, an avid SF Giants fan, loved Vin Scully’s storytelling. God Bless Vin Scully.

We have our own Vin Scully in Cleveland named Tom Hamilton (who will one day be a Hall of Famer). He is now the best living broadcaster and is 30 years in and deserves more acclaim.

I'm trying to describe what Bob Costas is, and the closest I can get is that he's to baseball what Carl Sagan was to physics.

The best thing about Vin Scully is that he didn't have a Joe Buck!!!!!!

Vin Scully LA Dodgers. Chic Hearn LA Lakers. It made watching some bad teams watchable. BTW - Was Scully from the X-Files a 'nod' to Vin?

That was little FU by mentioning the standing O. Vin knew about all the death threats to Hank, etc. (He was also friends with Jackie.)

Scully was the best. And Costas is absolutely correct - when one listens to Sandy Koufax's perfect game in September 1965, Scully (seemingly) sensed an historical event was emerging. And as result, Scully let bits of silence, along with the game create an atmosphere which remains untouched and unmatched. Vin Scully - the best.
