Nice compilation. Family knew family and Bobby Z was a young egotistic way angry protestor at so many things that needed protesting. His early country music, some religious, used to strum up in a few temples he had friends in. Was really a kinda bad mannered type, as was Bruce the Boss, hah, so many there in my region, we knew time would show their shine. Bobby Z grew into a major icon. Would love to get into your other "live album" type lists. Think it is a fantastic idea. Appreciate it very much. Keep a vigilant watch now more than ever, for the layers of prophecy, more so than just the clever compositions- he is one of several of us who had partied at Hopeless Valley, in the Castles (the "Turrets Parties") where I could not hang, I was too scary, so it was Tom Waits and a one armed Viet nam Vet named Sammy, drew political cartoons, ahh yes... so much talent we never knew and still has not been reckoned. It is everywhere anymore, in times of walls around DC with open borders and stay-at-home orders, hah, now more than ever, the Boss sold us out- Z never did, though he has had some rough periods, he has handled success so much better than most. He only went for his award when Leo called and told him, Hey bob there is also a monetary gift- a million. Hahah, so being human gone he was, and as he sang for us then one of my favorites Things Change, also a funny Don Ameche movie we all laughed at when Mr Natural was our napkin in a messy cactus brew, yes "life is good for me and for you" -quoting an Auschwitz survivor who had a tatto, pumped gas at his own station and enjoyed playing lottery for fun. Destiny always shined for him, and destiny shines, ":for me and for you." (the first 4 really excel in this one!!!) Be good, be bad, be good at being bad, just be... you. Best regards- ~RaVen DaWn~
Black Diamond bay is probably my favourite from this album, alas it's not here, infact I dont think I've ever heard any other version than the original excellent studio version
Oh God? Torno indietro di quarantacinque anni 🎸❤️🎼 Che voce, che grinta. In Europa e in Italia allora avrebbe riempito gli stadi. Versioni tiratissime👏
Note: There is a rare radio performance of Black Diamond Bay by co-writer Jacques Levy himself on YT ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8Nz5IieFwFs.html
Up on the white veranda She wears a necktie and a Panama Hat. The missing song, Black Diamond Bay, is my favorite from Desire. Emma Lou Harris does great backing vocals on that.
Dylan is the best into my heart he is my bro in life and our family is what we are give back with the music we must fighting always ty for all with love Take and Care with Healthy all over this world
All great performances !!! What energy this must have been taken . Every song he performed like his own masterpiece and it was , although every version somethimes is different !!Genius man .
Something so beautiful about Isis.I saw so much papyrus, gold and turquoise back then. Studying the temples, Luxor, Karnak, Giza, the Sphinx, and all 40 volumes of French Egyptology. All I ever heard was how obscure and irrelevant this kind of study seemed. As rumour had it, Mr.Frank Sinatra and Miss Barbra Streisand had the most sought after collectibles .I did manage to see Sekmet on the Randolph Hearst outdoor grounds. All of my friends from Cairo would just say the foreigners stripped the Pyramids of gold and marble. They would tell me about the curse of King Tut and the perils which ensued with the archaeologists who defiled the Royal Tombs. All in a day's work, but I enjoyed the Toronto King Tut Show curated by my first love's best friend.I wonder where Bobby Z's interest in Isis stemmed from. There was a strange passport rule which stipulated that if you visited Egypt then you could not enter Israel and vive versa.
Dylan knows a lot! He tells us this is a song about marriage, and that is clear from the first line. I guess he was using a goddess figure to indicate the sacred nature of marriage (and of women)
Ta! I gave up top diamond goldsmithing for a bar job in the Jordaan in Amsterdam, and apart from so much Fleetwood Mac, this was my beacon, gave me something to hold on in the 24 hour shift of those days, no time for rest, only living, so Live is a welcome Joy to refresh my elder days. alex from tuscany
Extraordinary work, neverending Bobfan! These songs are so gorgeous and wellcome in the actual moment we're living. I've read somewhere that there is a mouvement to make a movie about Hurricane's story in 2022. I'll try to get a confirmation.
Wow. What a find on RU-vid and thank you so much for putting it out there. Love this period Dylan . I was kind of ambivalent till blood on the tracks and desire came out then had a hell of a lot of catching up to do. I still prefer my Dylan “live” though. Something about knowing all that music and energy is being created there and then in the moment. I’ve seen him so many times now and he never disappoints. He doesn’t try and churn out faultless copies of his catalogue but breathes new life and thought into them . Gotta love the guy
as it says above - "Black Diamond Bay", was performed only once live (May 25, 1976 in Salt Lake City, UT) [missing here cause unfortunately not in circulation].
Supposedly it was played only once in Salt Lake City in 1976, but no known tape of it exists and audience accounts from that show vary if it were played that night.
