Lyrics Mother of Muses, sing for me Sing of the mountains and the deep dark sea Sing of the lakes and the nymphs of the forest Sing your hearts out, all your women of the chorus Sing of honor and fate and glory be Mother of Muses, sing for me Mother of Muses, sing for my heart Sing of a love too soon to depart Sing of the heroes who stood alone Whose names are engraved on tablets of stone Who struggled with pain so the world could go free Mother of Muses, sing for me Sing of Sherman, Montgomery, and Scott And of Zhukov, and Patton, and the battles they fought Who cleared the path for Presley to sing Who carved the path for Martin Luther King Who did what they did and they went on their way Man, I could tell their stories all day I'm falling in love with Calliope She don't belong to anyone, why not give her to me? She's speaking to me, speaking with her eyes I've grown so tired of chasing lies Mother of Muses, wherever you are I've already outlived my life by far Mother of Muses, unleash your wrath Things I can't see, they're blocking my path Show me your wisdom, tell me my fate Put me upright, make me walk straight Forge my identity from the inside out You know what I'm talking about Take me to the river, release your charms Let me lay down a while in your sweet, loving arms Wake me, shake me, free me from sin Make me invisible, like the wind Got a mind that ramble, got a mind that roam I'm travelin' light and I'm a-slow coming home

I knew this had a mythical significance, so I looked it up: In Greek mythology, Mnemosyne is the goddess of memory, and the mother of the nine Muses. The term Mnemosyne is derived from the same source as the word mnemonic, that being the Greek word mnēmē, which means "remembrance, memory". A titaness, Mnemosyne was the daughter of Uranus and Gaia. Mnemosyne was the mother of the nine Muses, fathered by her nephew, Zeus: Calliope (epic poetry) Clio (history) Euterpe (music and lyric poetry) Erato (love poetry) Melpomene (tragedy) Polyhymnia (hymns) Terpsichore (dance) Thalia (comedy) Urania (astronomy)

I love this tune. I don’t know how, but just listening to Dylan sing his songs gives me such peace from this wearying world of ours. Takes me out of time to a better place. Plucks my entire being right up and deposits me.. elsewhere. I emerge as if freshly laundered and topped off with a fortitude I did not possess moments prior. You have found your “ Mother of Muses” in your voice, so steady and so strong. I would hold so close on the side of a lake and just awaken you gently from your slumber of pain. Such a beautiful world as you continue to grow, for your verses; we never know. As you sing this song, think of this Art Conservator, whom will lead you back home. This piece of Artist genius reminds me, a bit of “ Woody” .. he fought for freedom and found courage to express his life. Thank you so very much Bob, as this Album is contagious; for I listen to your songs over and over throughout my day. Your Gift to us, is so very appreciated. We are ever so grateful to have in our generation of lives. Thank goodness! 🌟🎵🌟🎶 for you, we shall never forget those whom brought us our freedom at a cost .... 🌟🎵🌟🎶🌟🎼🌟🧡 You truly are a Beautiful Person, Bob. Thank you 🎶. 🎵 🎼 🎶 🌅

How beautiful, doesn’t time pass? We’re from the same neck of the woods. My uncle took me to my first concerts at Macalester , Pete Seeger and Peter Paul and and Mary, I must have been four. Such a memory and you’ve made many. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing these beautiful, unique, poetic songs from Bob Dylan with us. Have enjoyed his music and talent since I was a little girl in the sixties and appreciate them even more as…an old girl ha. Unfortunately I didn’t learn of Leanord Cohen until almost 2 years before we lost him, but that was love at first sound, so am grateful there was time we needed. Hearing Mr.Dylan my entire life, seems sad we don’t communicate, but if it’s God’s will then we will. Thank you very much for sharing his talents with us all. 💟☮️ Namaste’
