Bianca - Mother clown, the OG Trixie - Barbie Clown Kimchi - Fashion Clown Rock M. - Anime Clown Crystal - Serial Killer Clown I wanna see all of them together in one room
This opened my eyes to the fact that drag queens are modern clowns - people dressing in exaggerated makeup and clothing and performing songs, dances, or comedy routines to entertain people. I can't
crystal’s routine screams trial and error with experimentation instead of learning from someone else and i love that lmfaoo it’s apparent in how many unnecessary steps there are you can tell she did it once, liked it, and just kept doing it without questioning it
I love how Bob was like "crystal got me fucked up, my mouth feels crusty, my face hurts, I'm so confused..." that's like symptoms of coming down off of Crystal Meth lmao. And then "Crystal Method has broken me" lmao
@@ninarae3368 Don't be. Our education system is two weeks dedicated to slavery and one about civil rights. I didn't learn most of it until I was fourteen from the internet
just the way bob told crystal at the end, "you have my number, you can call me anytime." It just felt so genuine and I love how much Bob gives to other queens
Bob: 👁👄👁 His run way speech: “I am serving you John Wayne Gacy contour, I’m waking down the runway absolutely serving this helium canister and matching hatchet”
11:10 is when i start slowly laughing and i have tears down my face because of how fucking FUNNY this is! Bob just a slowly realizing how crazy they look 😭
@@wetsockfullofhotmeat number one mistake, trying to use makeup wipes to take off anyyy makeup. they're the least effective form of makeup remover and that's not what anyone wants, let alone someone with 8 layers of cream and powderr
I love how drag still has these remnants of ingenuity and repurpose in the process. One thing that stands out most to me is the gluing eyebrows down (or shaving them off) which I believe mainstream makeup artists have adopted from drag. There’s lots of tricks that makeup artists adopted from drag queens (honestly the whole concept of contour/baking/highlight LOL). Today, so many of us learned how to do makeup from here on RU-vid and it seems like the technique has become fairly homogenized but it’s a treat when an MUA shares secret tips. But drag has taught us so much because sister we were using BRONZER to CONTOUR…. And clear mascara on the brows🙈 this was very fun to watch
I’ve read primary sources and own makeup books from time periods when drag was in its infancy, not easily accessible or recognizable to people in the mainstream, and they definitely contoured and highlighted, and “baking” techniques were being used for decades by then. Watch the movie “Gilda” from 1946, the main character gets her makeup done in cream and “baked” with powder ALLLLLLLLL over then brushed off. It’s a pretty cute scene actually! I’m sorry, I will give drag queens their due when pioneering things, but let’s be real and rely on historical facts when we do that pls
Okay, Bob, here's my contacts story: Like you, I had never had contacts in my eyes. But the girlfriend of a fellow I worked for worked for an optometrist who specialized in soft contacts (this was 1981). I finally figured I'd give it a shot. Went to the doctor's office, sat in the chair, did the exam, and he whipped out a pair of Bausch & Lomb soft lenses. He popped that first one up on his finger tip, tilted my head back, and all I could see was FINGER COMING AT MY EYE! My right leg jerked up, and I kicked him right smack in the testicles! Once he could breathe again, he sorta chuckled and said, "No one's ever done THAT before." to which I replied, "No one's ever stuck their finger in my eye, either!" I wore contacts for years and years until my eyes changed to the point where I needed trifocals. Ah, well...
Sounds like a patreon idea! Advertise yours! I would pay top tear for that! Only thing better is challenging Monet X to recreate Trixie let us choose the winner!!
Cannot stop laughing. I rewatch this constantly and as the make up goes on Bob looks like a person having a mental break down. Edit for missing letters thanks to my terrible keyboard
"Oh she' wearing gloves, she's one of thoes queens, who wears gloves when you do makeup?" -Bob the Drag Queen, wearing a grandma summer dress out of drag
I tried to figure out why Crystal’s make up scared me so much, and I think it’s because the lips portion reminds me of a doll or a puppet. And I’m afraid of both of those… 😂😂
I really feel like Crystal Methyd's makeup works for her specifically bc of her face. Like her mouth is really small and her face is really narrow, so the way that her lips are overdrawn suits her face, whereas Bob has really big lips so the overdrawing ends up seeming so much wider
"Maybe she knows more about this than I do” - I was lowkey shocked to hear you say that cause I’m so used to bragging and shade. We Stan a humble Queen 🙏
