You only need to watch the egg bit to realise how much the other comedians are in stitches. The sheer randomness, along with Vic's continual reactions/acting/improv show why he's such a highly rated comedian.
@@14rs2 Yes its because Bob is better suited to panel shows. There's no question Vic is the creative genius behind the double act and the funnier of the two
@@14rs2 The same with the mighty boosh. Noel Fielding is better suited to panel shows because he's way more outgoing. Though only a fool would suggest that he's funnier than Julian Barratt. Julian Barratt is on another level
@@tnucateM True. Many people seem to think that Vic is not on Bob's level, but he's always been the main writer and main drive behind their comedy. When it comes to making comedy, he's just A level.
If you watch the smell of reeves and Mortimer and bang bang its reeves and Mortimer and shooting stars you will see just how ridiculously funny and creative they were and it was mostly vic or should I say Jim who wrote most of them shows along with Charlie higson (fast show) as it all stemmed from Vic reeves big night out which he did before he met Bob.
It's great to see Vic and Bob on TV again, with regards to who is funnier or the driving force behind their paring, I'd say it's a perfect setup. Vic is obviously the one who plans his comedy out, writes things down and sets things up, Bob is more off-the-cuff, improvisation orientated, so they both bounce off each other really well. No one is better than the other, they both bring out the best in each other.
Remarkably most of Bob's random stories appear to be true, he references many of them in his autobiography including that wedding story. I always assumed he was just riffing nonsense 99 percent of the time
Agree there mate. Everyone's just jumping on the Vic hating bandwagon like little sheep. I like them both but in my opinion Vic was and always will be the most creative and funny of the two.
Right? All these people probably need to sit back and think that if the actual comedians are finding him funny and they aren't, there's a slight chance that they might infact be the ones with a shit sense of humour
Reading the comments saying how crap Vic is, it's easy to tell who watched him and Bob when they started out on tv and who are only basing their opinions on panel show guest spots of recent times...
@@Sophie_Bannon I get weirdly annoyed by people who only know or largely only associate Bob with WILTY. He’s brilliant on it but god there’s so much more to him than that. I saw a YT comment on a 90’s vic and bob sketch the other day that said “IS THAT BOB MORTIMER!!?!” 😑
Re Bobs comment at the end about having good balance. After many series of watching Bob and Paul trying to fish, I can wholeheartedly attest that this is, in fact, a LIE. Oops wrong show. 😂🤣
Always felt Bob was the sidekick growing up, now it’s like he’s the only funny one and I wonder what Vic ever brought to the table apart from some randomness.
