Rock legend Steve Miller sings an intimate version of "The Joker" on The Bob Rivers Show - just Steve and his guitar at the Mix 107-5 studios in Portland!
I can't believe how tuned his voice is. It is so 'spot-on' that it looks like he has an autotune, but no! He's just great! And his guitar playing in this performance looks simple but is actually kindda hard. Very effective picking.
I saw the Steve Miller band at eagles auditorium in 1969, that was the Brave New World tour. It was unforgettable. Miller is not just a studio performer.
No one can do it better than the best🤓😎. The best songs are always the simple ones with a catchy tune and lyrics. Thanks Steve Miller, you old JOKER you.
One of our generation's (classic rock) greatest entertainers! This song (along with many others in his catalog) is timeless! Thanks for sharing this great performance!
Salgado was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2005, and underwent a successful liver transplant in 2006. On June 13, 2006, a benefit concert was held in his honor in Portland to raise funds for his medical treatment.Among those who performed were STEVE MILLER.
Many classic rock singers get sloppy, lazy, careless, or off-key when singing their old stuff. Steve, however, stays true to his music and sounds as fresh as he ever has.
That song is one of my top ten of all time. I liked it back when I was in the 2nd grade, don't know why, I couldn't have undertood the concepts at that age. There was something about it that coalesced with my very being. Or maybe it is merely an awesome song? :)
