Bob Wills Plays and Glen Campbell Sings "San Antonio Rose" [REACTION/GIFT REQUEST] 

Thanks so much Farm Daddy for this fabulous request. I'd never seen this version before and it's a great one! I first heard this song in a school talent show when I was a kid - sung by a pretty girl who dressed up perfectly in cowgirl garb. Fell for the girl, fell for the song, and it's never left me as one of the all time greatest ever. Bob Wills is certainly the master of western swing, which is still the best! Thanks Don for your outstanding reaction!!!

My dad played with Bob Wills after ww2. He's played on several of his recordings. I have a cd with him singing lead on one of his songs

Thanks, Don! This song brings back vivid memories of my childhood. The early morning music coming across the airway into the old AM radio in the kitchen, as we got ready to start the day. Many a mornin', it was Bob Wills greeting us with one of his versions of 'San Antonio Rose'. Appreciate your work, Don!

He wasm't messing with Glen. "AH HA" was a trademark of Bob Wills, he did it all the time in all his performances. "San Antonio Rose" and the "New San Antonio Rose," (in this clip) are his trademarks. "It don't matter who's in Texas, Bob Wills is still the King."

Glen Campbell got his start in Albuquerque, NM at the Caravan East on route 66. It has unfortunately been torn down ❤😢
