A bit late to the party here, but for what its worth, I dont use the silicone stops at all. I used them when I started fishing with slip bobbers, and quickly discarded them, I found that they bumped the rings when cast, significantly reducing distance, and increasing frustration and clutter, also it was just such a weird feeling to have them go "bump bump bump bump" as they went through the rings, casting for fishing ought to be smooooth :). So I went with a simple monofilament stop knot, and it works flawlessly. I have about zero malfunctions, even in relatively long casts for a bopper like this. My rig is like this, from the top: Stop Knot > Pearl > Slip Bobber > Pearl > Swivel > Line with sliding lead(short, no more than say 4 inches/ 10 cm) > Pearl > Swivel > Line with hook on end(about 15 inches/40cm). Not much line to manage in the cast, and it nearly always fold itself out and fishes perfectly. Use it primarily for mackerel and cod, but it can be scaled up or down to suit the need.

Do you ever lake fish with them? I can’t get at any distance and only fish from the bank

@@jonathanmartin7403 It's hit or miss because the fish are either to far out or not deep enough from shore. in my boat I can grab some from the shoreline if I fish different spots.
