This is a super easy and effective way to catch trout! Jordan from Addicted Fishing is going to show you how to rig and fish a water bobber and artificial fly. Basically you're fly fishing with a spinning rod. Flies are the most natural presentation you can give a trout but you may not have a fly rod or want to use one. This super simple trout fishing technique will help you put more trout on the bank. Thanks for watching, please smash that thumbs up and turn on the bell for more videos.

Loving the trout vids. As a new fisherman (who is also newly addicted) I was wondering about Trout behavior throughout the seasons. Should I be switching up my tactics as the seasons change or is it cool to just stay the same? What about time of day? Could be a good video!

Thank you! My husband was an expert fisherman and I have countless fond memories us taking fishing vacations in British Columbia, Idaho, and Washington State. Of course, he always did my setup for lakes or rivers. I was lazy and never asked why he would use a fly, spinner, or plain ole worm! It has been many years now, I’ve retired, and would like to get back out there with my sons and younger members of my family. And now that I’ve found your channel, I can learn and show my sons Mom just might not need any help! 😁

Hi! A little greeting from Norway. I really like the way you make videos. This is my favorite way to fish. Sometimes the fly hangs up in the line when landing. This can be solved by stopping the reel a few feet before it lands. But you probably already knew that.

The past 2 days I have been trout fishing with my normal minnows and power bait and nothing. I see them jumping but nothing on the line. After watching your video lastnight I went to the bait shop and got the set up you used in your video. It took 15 min before I had my limit. Amazing! Just goes to show you can always learn something new. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Dinner Time.

Years ago I used to watch an older fella come down to the lake in late afternoon, first get his stringer ready, then begin to fish this method, catching a limit in short order. He taught me how to set it up and I've been doing this ever since. Now I'm the older "gal" catching limits and teaching others. Favorite fly is the light Spruce Fly streamer.

Really good setup. If I may suggest another. I usually fly fish in the south of Chile, but one day there was just too much wind. I grabbed my spinning rod (always take it when conditions aren't right to flyfish) and I made a Carolina Rig. A sliding egg sinker, from 1/8 to 1/4 oz., above a small barrel swivel and about 60 cm (about 24 inches) of 2X tippet for a leader. Then I'd tie on a wooly bugger or large nymph. Cast out then retrieve with an alternating retrieve-jigging motion to give the fly some movement. Caught several trout in spite of the wind. Just a suggestion.

You definitely just made that story up but, fly rods can be equally as inexpensive as spin gear. Or, equally as expensive.
@rockytalkndawoods3057
@rockytalkndawoods3057 4 года назад
@@Headtrons when you already have a rod another rod that requires completely different gear gets expensive. If I had started with only a fly rod and gear it would be a costly investment to go to a spinning rod, etc. As for the fisherman story, it's all true. Their are way too many arrogant fisherman out there. More often then not while combat fishing the guys that talk the most trash get skunked, while humble folks walk away with dinner. 😂🤷‍♂️ Even my photo pic was taken after plunking when the guys around me said that technique never works. The only thing I might lie about is the 45lb bass in this icon picture.😉

Somewhat forgotten is the tiny propeller-headed Rooster Tail lure from the early-'70s. Decades ago, in my nascent trout fishing career, these were my preferred spinning lure. My buddies and I once spent an entire day chasing all over Bucks County, Pennsylvania, visiting multiple small bait and tackle shops to secure as many #1 and #2 Rooster Tails as we could for an upcoming fishing trip upstate. Good times.

You can substitute the fly with a #6 or #8 baid hook and a power worm. Let it sink and just slowly twitch it back. Just give it enough time to sink. I have also added a swivel with avout a 6ft leader so it can have some added weight to balance the worms boyancy.

I use a swivel as well to prevent the bubble from sliding down the line, but it can move up the line. That allows a trout to pull the line out without dragging the bubble around. Not sure it matters, but just have always done it that way. One thing I have never heard of is using a dry fly with this technique. Pretty cool...

Love this setup. Use it all the time except I don’t stuff a toothpick in the bubble. Instead of tying a surgeons knot, put the bubble on the main line and tie a swivel to the end of the line. Then tie your leader to the other end of the swivel this way when you reel in, the swivel catches the bubble and naturally pulls it. Hope that makes sense. Toothpick is a bad idea... it could come loose but even worse is when it breaks off in there and you can’t get it out making your bubble an unusable piece of trash.

I usually will leave my fly sitting still under my bobber for a few minutes before reeling it a few feet, the trout go crazy for that

Somehow I'd never heard of a water bobber. Before I clicked I thought you meant a regular bobber/float. This is genius.

They make an Adjusta-Bobber, which is a torpedo shaped water bobber with rubber tubing that runs through the center to the plugs on each end. You slide your line through through the middle like a regular bobber, but you just twist the end and the band cinches down on the line. This allows you to adjust your leader length as much and often as you want with out added knots, swivels or beads. Saves time so you cancel change out Pistol Pete flies and not have to lose leader length or tie a new leader. Just loosen bobber by untwisting and slide up or down, twist tight to again. Downside, rubber eventually deteriorates. Just store with tube completely untwisted and out of sun and they will last quite awhile.
