That is the most useful tutorial I’ve seen in a while! Will work especially well on Adams and Stimis where the hackle is close to the eye

Yeh, it's pretty fast and easy once you get the hang of it. Lyle Graf at Rite Bobbin taught me how to do it.

As I said in an earlier comment, Lyle Graf from Rite Bobbin showed it to me, jeez, probably 10 years ago. If memory serves, he was shown how to do it by none other than Joe Humphreys.

A good trick Tim but my only concern is that if done repeatedly you might put a small burr on the bobbin holder’s tip that could fray the thread or even break it. I found this out to my chagrin when I used my whip finish tool’s tip to clean the hook eye free from head cement. Luckily I managed to clean it up and polish it back to smooth.
