Listening to this makes me fall over and over again with my husband.takes me back to our dating days, and club days . beautiful times back then( 39years ago)
"That burning desire would always be apart of me...it brought us to this and oh baby this is our final destiny...a burning flame it melted our two hearts into one ..oh Lawd, a burning desire all it could ever do is take us higher, higher, higher, higher, higher....where do we go from here"?
Tamara Grant But it wasn't grown folks music back in the 80's when I was a South London soulboy, the scene was massive, we loved it then when I was 15, then it got too silky smooth then it became pop and strangely changed it's name from soul to R&B and that was that. There is still some great soul being made, Lee Fields, Myron & E (which is on Stones Throw, a hip-hop label) and it lives on in underground hip-hop like Blu and Madlib. They aren't plundering, they revere the music and the great Mr Roy Ayers (who I saw last week) says the same. It's the only way of introducing all this fantastic music to the young.
One of my Father's favorite artists.. he went to his rest a couple of years ago, but I play it when I'm thinking of him, remember him singing it in the car or on a Sunday afternoon at the house when I was growing up.....
R.I.E.P. Sir Bobby Womack. Thank you for your beautiful musical legacy. Your music has washed away from my soul the dust of everyday life!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU...I salute you!!! Sleep on Sir Bobby Womack, sleep & take your rest!!
I remember serving in the military overseas in the 80s and 90s There were many lonely nights where I listened to Bobby and missing my wife. It was a long year but this music soothed my soul and kept me focused on what and who were important
Where Do We Go Form Here? I'll keep listening to the "POET, (Bobby Womack) and his beautiful songs of life! R.I.P. Bobby! Thanks For Touching The World With Your Music and Song.
I WAS SINGING THIS SONG AS A TEENAGER AND THIS SONG TAKES ME BACK! MY FRIENDS DIDN'T GET IT BACK THEN BUT THEY GET IT NOW! A MUSICAL GENIUS AND LEGEND!
That burning desire would always be a part of me....Two hearts into one. Higher, higher, higher... Where do we go from here, I wonder can you tell me.. Excellent song, reflective lyrics... Building to a crescendo.. I realise I need you, you need me, you see baby I'm tired .. I'd like to know, where do we go from here??

My mother said my grandmother went to see bobbi in concert back in the seventies, I wish I could have shared some of those memories with her!!!!!!! R.I.P. Gramma!
Well well well wooo hooo!!! Bobby was the man!!! He made us all fall in love!! I love that man!!!! His spirit is alive and well in all of us that listened to him.R.I.P. Bobby! We Love you Bobby!!!
Definitely a classic & my favorite too!! A lot of the music back in the day was sung with emotion, meaning & true feelings. Singer's were NOT afraid to let it out, about how they felt about someone. I don't know what's up with some of today's music. I for one, wish music was like it use to be.
The days of the 8-track player for me!! One of my Dad's favorite artists. I see why we LOVE this SOULFUL MUSIC decades later!!! It was TIMELESS!!!! And CLASSIC!!! Will our children's children be able to say this about the music they listen to today? I THINK NOT.............SADLY I SAY THIS!!!!! RIP, Mr. Womack. Thank You for so many great songs!!!
The Poet! Snuff said...Bobby took us in the deep waters with him with his music. This bro was DEEP!.....#A Master......R I P Bobby...see you on the other side bro!!!
Bobby Womack often gets overlooked when people talk about the great Soul performers but to me he is right up at the top of the tree ,not only that but he was also a massive influence on rock bands from England like the Rolling Stone's and especially The Face's . A one off artiste who could do most things well ,you wont see his like again im afraid . King Bobby !
saw bobby in kentish town last mounth and wow what a singer done the new album then the classics, has to have the greatest blues/soul voice of all time, not to mention his song writing and guitar playing. Where does soul music go from here. thanks for reading n stay in tune
Where do "I" go from here. My true love, my best friend is resting in heaven. Never, ever will be another J.F.M. but, you go on & have a life the best you can.
Lord, I grew up on this. Was 19 when I got into Bobby. I have forgotten how great of a singer, teacher he was. I'm just screaming right about now I can't even think....Listening to this song...I LOVE U BOBBY...I'm so glad you came and brought us your MUSIC...LOVE U FOREVER...UR THE MASTER!
Bobby is the MAN! if you listen to his music he will explain life, love and relationship. He is truly a gifted brother. I like to listen to him just talk, so cool and so much downhome wisdom!!
This has a crazy feeling to it, that actually triggers certain memories for me, and I didn't even hear it as a child. It makes me think of Cape Cod sunsets at the canal, it felt like only a few people were there besides my family and I. Searching for starfish with my sister. Bobby Womack has some ridiculously beautiful songs. Sometimes I've even shed some tears just thinking about so many things...then the song would stop and I'd just say "wow".
Woooooooo I wish entertainment business would make true stories about Bobbie Womack and Luther Vandross of how each man found his voice to sing like that makes you wanna cry. Bobbie could sing the hell out all his songs. He touch nerves....
every song he wrote was a actual life experience ..that's why he was so so far out there and all could relate as he would translate out feelings and emotions we all have had the same experience but did not know how to put it in a form that would be heard by the other party..so he was our translater our messenger who delivered the message to be heard...and if you don't beleive that ..you are not being truthful to yourself and you don't eat chicken on sunday....there nobody man or women that has not thought these words and wanted to express them..well now you can ..so if you have a problem just put a bobby womack record on and you will solve all of the problems..fact not fiction..
This is a true saying. You can't save those who don't want to be saved" . LOL!! Brings back memories of fond days, and free love and some how that felt like real love. This song reminds me of the Black Radio Exclusive days out here in California. Cool jam...thanks for posting.
This is my jam, I always play bobbi when i'm cleaning or thinking about my husband, waiting on daddy to come home! My little girls like when he says "Let's go to mars, where on children play and live on candy bars..."I When I listen to the words, it's like, they're at the middled of the road, and now he's saying"where do we go from here"? That's when daddy and I say " We've been through too much, for backing up now"!!!!!!
thank you for reminding me with this track what a great album 'The Poet' is. Had on vinyl in the 80s and now on CD for the car. Can't believe how many of the tracks....more like the words!....I can still remember, given my age :) x
