If I hadn’t been so excited to put everything back together and try it, we’d have some good shots of all the parts. But the moral of the story here is your actuators can bench test 100% and still be the problem. Take the end cap off and make sure the screws holding the motor on have not come loose or fallen out.

I am considering purchasing a 1997 Bobcat 963 with heat only, no A/C unfortunately. It has 2000 hours from a 1 owner farm that used it to only push snow. Here in the states I don't believe this unit is very desirable because of its weight and size. I find it the complete opposite. I want a heavy track loader here at our farm. Would you recommend this now that you've had it for a while? The seller says that when you turn the heat on there is a slight smell of oil ( they looked everywhere for leaks and there aren't any... there's no leaks on the ground, they can't find oil anywhere... very strange not sure why he says) He also said that there is a very small amount of blowby... is there ever an acceptable amount? Would you consider installing OTWT (over the wheel tracks)? Tough to find steel tracks for this unit. Still trying to figure out if I should purchase it or not. He wants around $17,800 for it. How much did you pay for yours?

That sounds like a great deal. I paid 25k for mine, then sold it for 33k after repairs. (CAD) I agree I would go for the extra weight again every time. I’m not really a diesel expert, so can’t comment on the blow by but with 2000 hours I would feel comfortable with that engine for that price :)
