For the door latch, loosen the two Allen screws on the cab frame and slide it back roughly 1/8” to start, and tighten. Close the door slowly to make sure it lines up before closing harder. Repeat and fine tune if not right the first time. My door was rattling and let in water when cleaning. Fixed the problem and a world of difference.
We just bought an m series s 650 man I couldn’t be happier with it the price of the R series was just flat out ridiculous and now I am even happier after watching this video none of these issues .
@@BuiltbyBurns this ideas about buying features that you already paid for is completely moronic. I wont be buying a bobcat again. Kubota with a proper door will be my next ctl purchase, I did run a rental Case that was pretty nice too
On our S66 the backup camera is disconnecting more often than being used and this causes a warning chime every 3 second or so. The Max control system is that you connect to the machine go through the start up process and then reconnect to the machine because it lost WIFI signal for some reason. We had the rear left hub replaced twice with under 50 hours of time on the machine, the second time it broke was on snow and ice without tire chains.
I’ve never really ran any of the cases so I can’t really give you an accurate opinion on it. But they have been making machines for along time I’m sure it’s competitive.
@@BuiltbyBurns Really liked the T66 and was hoping to get one but ended up going with case, mostly due to being about $15k less. Machine prices are crazy
I have a case tv380. Has 700 hours seems to be fine. Bought it used had a few sensors go out. I'd go with whichever offer the best dealer support. Alot of these places will be awesome till you buy.
Great video, and funny! I have a T64, which I was told even has the same engine as the t66 but less horse power due to a computer setting. Anyway, totally agree with you on the stickers……they are horrible. I hate having a new machine that looks old because of the stickers. I need the fan too, and agree, why not make that standard. I added the side light kit and definitely would recommend them, but I work a lot at night. I also got the upgraded glass that gets rid of 75% of the side grates, by accident, as it was all they had at the time and I would never not get that feature. Even though the backup camera is nice I still would like a center mirror like some of the other manufacturers give you. Ultimately, like you I would definitely buy it again. Thanks for making the video!
I have the same machine, and I as well hate those 2 grease points, and the fluid sight glass is just in a poor location But my biggest complaint is how the tracks get clogged up especially in mud, in dry dirt there is no problem, the bobcat stickers plain are junk. but the machine is awesome and overall if I had to choose I would still get it. I dont have the coolant issue you have I also do not have an issue going up hills. In the cab The door is a dumb design and it needs another place to put gloves or whatever
Thx for running thru your list. Never owned a machine that didn’t have $@#&% issues. My takeaways: it moves whatever it lifts; plan to take your time going up grade, and you’d buy it again. So, the T-66 stays on my list. My complaint: i don’t like having to travel 45 miles to the dealer. Don’t worry, I’ve already called the whambulance.
Love the review. I have a 2012 T190 and love the machine. Love the wide tracks and how it performs. I am a joystick and 2 speed guy myself so I definitely prefer the joystick. When I get into a hand and foot it brings me back to my beginnings and takes a bit to get reoriented with it. I was considering trading on a T64 or 66 but the price is crazy now plus dealing with DEF is not a great selling feature for me. Bobcat really should pay attention to these little things as they make the experience when you are spending hours inside one of these. I have hit the back door a couple of times and can say that new door does not look as solid, especially with all those gadgets attached to it on the inside too.
There's no def in those models. They did consider it hence t66 is 74hp. Anything 75hp+ requires def. I have t190 and just bought t66. Huge upgrade and well worth it.
Great review, funny too, love it! I’ll say this right away, I’ve never had a track machine. Last Bobcat was a 2010 S650. Absolutely loved it. I don’t know much about the new machines as I’ve been retired for 6 yrs and haven’t kept up. Too many quality issues it seems from your review. I noticed the stickers right away!! Ugh that’s ridiculous. I also can’t believe you paid $80k for a machine without 2 speed! WTF?? Take it back and get one with 2 speed. I’m a hand/foot guy too, never liked joystick or just hands. It’s what you learn on. I hate that I’m gonna say this, but maybe consider Kubota machines now? I was always a staunch supporter of Bobcat , but after seeing yours, I just can’t defend a lot of that BS. Have you looked at ASV?? Those track systems are the best supposedly. Anyway, I really enjoyed your video! Take care.
I really like these videos! Full of great commentary so it's funny as hell to watch. I'm going to have to do a full watch-through on your channel at some point. Please keep up the good work man! Also, for your windows.... I wonder if those latches were installed on the wrong sides, like left on right and right on left?
Thanks my guy, I’m glad you enjoyed my complaining! As far as the window latches being on the wrong side…. I know sober me would have never got those mixed up when I did the tint job. But there’s a slim chance that busch lattes were involved in the reassembly process. I’ll have to go back and watch the video on the channel and see if I effed it up reinstalling them. Nice eye my guy! 🍻🙅
You’re fortunate you got the foot controls Sounds like they’re working decent for you.We got the joystick control it doesn’t matter what setting you have it on there is such a delay that when you start to do real finesse work against buildings ,plumbing pipes,Getting pallets down off from racking material in the shop etc. you have to anticipate every move with the delay. They’re like a bad joystick video game in the early days. The salesman said air software updates it will get better, they’ve done it twice no improvement yet.The caterpillar skid steer is much more real time
I know exactly what your talking about. I was runnin an old 873 foot control machine before this one. There’s a huge learning curve to it. Like you said once you kinda get the hang of how the machine reacts it just becomes second nature after some hours on the machine.
I run both the t66r and a cat 289d with joystick controls, I find the cat feels really doughy in the controls, not only for track controls but bucket/arm. Maybe turn the sensitivity up in the driver settings
My biggest gripe with cat is I’ve ran a couple here and there and I feel like there’s no consistency. Seems like every time I get into one it feels nothing like the last one. Could be just me but I’m just not a fan of them.
I still think Bobcat has the best machine and IF fully loaded the most luxury comforts and badass looking but if they keep pulling this chincy crap like the stickers, hydro sight glass, rattling, etc. someone else is going to beat them to a better machine build. There are too many options now not to perfect this. I spoke to a bobcat rep last week and told him that Cat's service is bar none the best so when I spend 90k on a new machine they better treat me like I'm at the BMW dealership.
on the door latch, mine does not do that but mine only has 100 hours. Anyway you can remove that latch with the 2 large phillips screws and flip it around after you just try to pull it back and tighten, you wont need much
I have 5 link suspension, its gives you 3 inches between tracks and side of machine with wide tracks . I see yours is very tight. All mud falls off with 5 link
@@BuiltbyBurns no complaints with 5 link. I own a t595 also actually prefer it over the t66. I just they are making everything cheaper and smaller cabs . On the list to get kubota svl75-3. Looking like may . Time for something different owned Bobcats since 2001. - svl75-3 looks to be a game changer. 1 piece cab finally.
I know what your sayin. I’m leaning towards Takeuchi myself. I’m kicking myself from letting them talk me into this t66 and not waiting for the t650 to come in stock when I bought this thing. I agree thought, bobcat is not what it use to be since doosan took over.
have you had any issues with the pedals? we have worn out about 4 pedals over a year, they will get lose and you have to play with them so the tilt unlocks it’s still under warranty so bobcat fixed it but i’m worried about when it’s out of warranty
I love the machine, the cab looks a lot more comfortable then my Kubota SVL 65. Honestly I don’t think the Kubota has a single issue that you talked about. Now don’t get me wrong they have their own issues - like the windshield washer fluid reservoir on the inside of the cab right above the cup holder so it gets all over your arm and drink from bouncing around. Or how the fuel filler neck is at such a low angle it takes fuel really slow. But I am really surprised at the little details bobcat left out when designing that machine.
Lube issue... grease gun tips are adjustable so you can tighten or lossen the grip on the grease zerk and won't have to snap off to the side. I posted this twice because it didn't show up the first time. Wanted to let you know before you broke out the cutting torch
@@BuiltbyBurns I always do and I'm truthful because I have no skin in the game. Fortunately, I do have some of the older ones that don't seem to have as many problems.
That’s because the old ones were not over engineered. There’s too many bells and whistles on these new ones. I miss the old days were a flat head screwdriver and a crescent wrench was all you about needed to keep a fleet maintained.
@@BuiltbyBurns So true, that's why I won't be updating my T300. It's a hoss even though I have to use my feet and my arms to operate it. I actually prefer that.
Keep it clean and you wont have as much complaints. Dont take but 5-10 min of pressure washing. You like one of my bros. He and i have same equipment years and everything his is all to crap w thousands spent in maintenance. Lolol. Only complaint i have is the door. Wish they set it like there excavators. Opening up and in cab would be waaaay better
The only thing that really concerns me is that the cooling has been evaporating. That's a huge issue! more than the other windows and mud, i will call the dealer and take it back ASAP.
The maintenance guy here said he had one where it was overheating because the factory didn't put enough coolant in it. I wonder if it just evaporated like this?
@onjofilms I recently had a recall related to a coolant tube on this machine. After having it exchanged I’ve been keeping an eye on it and I have noticed the machine is maintaining the coolant level at the moment. Hopefully it’s fixed.
Funny you mention that, a few weeks ago I was doing some routine maint and I found mine leaking in the same spot. Right where a coolant tube was connected.
Yup i agree with everything you said .The engineers should all be fired that designed this machine and were not even talking about the engine.Watch when you get a few hours under that doosan engine and you have to start replacing 800 injectors. The common rail fuel systems with electronic injectors are garbage compared to the mechanical fuel systems of the the pre 2014 machines with the kubotas.
I’ve ran a t595 a few times. I like them. As far as comparison to the t66 I would probably lean more twards the t595. Mostly because I see a lot more people in my area running them over the t66. To me it’s a more simplistic machine. Me personally I like the t650. I hate to say much more mostly because I don’t feel like I have had enough experience on the t595 to give you a honest comparison.
@@BuiltbyBurns That's kind of the vibe I got. Seems guys prefer the T595. I was looking at T650s too, but I don't really don't need anything bigger than a T595. I'd be replacing a compact tractor with it mainly for more lift capacity.
@@BuiltbyBurns the 62 I’m looking at has two speed built in but they want 1400 more for it. It’s built in the machine. Depending on how old your machine is it might also. I’m looking at a 2023.
I don’t comment much on here because I could care less about arguing with you guys but, I’m riding passenger on a road trip so: I literally stated in the intro part of the video that I was going to talk about all the negative things I found about the machine. Then in that same sentence I said I would still buy this thing again. It’s also in the video discription highlighting the fact this was going to be a con video. Therefore I don’t really see how that makes me Debbie downer. I guess I’ll make another video just talking about all the positive things on this unit so I don’t trigger guys like you. This is not a sponsored ad. This is a real life contractor giving a review on a machine he has experience running. If you want Someone to lie to you and tell you all you want to hear I suggest listening to our president speak or maybe go watch a dealship video of a Salesman talking about it. End of convo, say what you want. It’s not my fault you expected somthing else.
I’ve ran the same machine with 2 speed. In the lower gear ratio this t66 runs much Better overall when needed. The current ratio on this t66 without the 2 speed is overall good, but lacks power or speed when needed.
Lube issue. So I watched a video on grease guns and I was shocked to learn that the tip has an adjustment to take it off without having to snap it off to the side. I've fought to get them on and off for 60 years and had to learn the trick from grandpa you tube. 🤦🏼♂️
