Bobovr M2 hurts when using for about 2-3 hours. It's the small support on the top of the head on both sides that hurt. I have tried different settings without any luck. Now i decided to remove those. It feels already better. Just look at the original strap for oculus. They works fine. If they going to make support on the top of the head then make it a lot bigger. They are way to small. I think most people don't play that long therefore they don't notice this issue. I come back for an update...maybe i made a mistake remove those...but i don't think so
@@hammerfallen12345 I agree, personally I prefer a standard center strap over those middle 2 top pads. In my mods video I just bent them out of the way, and added a middle strap. My latest video showcases my latest setup with the M2
@@hammerfallen12345 xD I would have either kept bending them back and forth till they break or used some shears, dont wanna deal with a smokey mess lol, then having to clean the iron.
@@VRKommando It took 1 min to fix and you do it on the stove with the fan on. I then just took kitchen paper and cleaned it off fast afterwards. Bending will highly give you a lot of cracks
Oh my god, thank you so much for including the information about wearing over ear headphones. This is my main concern with every non-stock strap for the Quest 2 and it often does not get mentioned in other reviews. I already ordered my BoboVR strap but good to know that I did not waste my money. I even have the same headphones as you. Perfect review!
As always, a very professional video with no hyperbole or stupid faces on the thumbnail. Thank you for providing actual information and being one of my favourite VR youtubers.
I've had this for a month or so now and it's incredible! I've had no problems with discomfort from the pads so could just be a head shape thing? Glad you've reviewed this because more people should be talking about this great piece of kit!! 😁
@@knox3309 hi there, I haven't yet as I haven't really been taking it to other folks houses due to the current situation but why can't you find one? The headstrap is so manuverable that I thought it would at least fit in anything the elite strap would fit into?
Thank you for mentioning the back support strap, I totally forgot I bought one before I bought the BOBO M2, I DIDN'T EXPECT THE TWO TO WORK SO WELL TOGETHER!!
I rarely comment but this video is super well done. This looks like something that could come from a channel with a few hundred thousand subs. That into shot was awesome and I love the dual colored lighting on the table. Your narration sounds really professional too. Keep it up man.

The cheap little plastic pin on the Quest 2 for me snapped. I’m sure virtually everyone else out there has had this problem also. Why on Earth they made this plastic when it requires a little bit of force as a strap location. I can see on your review though, that you opted to use the additional support strap over the head, so if it really does need this, won’t be worth me buying it. Can you advise, did it actually need this then?
Can you use it if your lying on a bed without removing it, just by foldin it? i like to watche movie on my pillow but with the elite strap it's not possible. Nice video btw :)
Just hopped in bed, that would be a yes depending on how you lay, mine is currently making contact with the pillow so my head is resting on the strap and strap on pillow and it seems ok, you can even use your head to keep it planted and be able to pull up the headset to check your phone or talk to someone then put it back on without taking it completely off, at least with my pillow / height it seems pretty decent tbh. Hope this helps : )
If your getting a quest 2 now and watching this video I got this headset strap and love it way more than the stock one, If you have longer hair and find it slipping try sliding it all the way to be flush with the part that has the speaker on it
i'm sorry but this strap aint that great there is one flaw i have with it... it doesnt like to stay on your head due to the back of it likes to slide up your head due to the padding doesn't ankor down on the back of your head so the front aka the quest 2 weighs to much and causes the back to unbend and slowly sliding up intill it falls off your head... but the thing i did find out if you wear like a beanie or put some fabric back there where the back headpads are it causes it to stay in place and not slide. but these are just the issues i am having.
The "support pads" (idk if this is the same model I have but still the same shape) on the headstrap hurt my head after playing for a few hours. A desperate after a few days I'm pretty sure I have a small dent on my head or something.
Is it more comfortable to use with glasses? My biggest problem with the Quest 2 is that I have to use my glasses and the pressure is so bad with the original strap and it makes my head hurt in 15 minutes. I know I should get perscription lenses but I'm just wondering.
That really depends on your glasses and how wide they / how thick the arms are. In combination with what Facepad you use. However it is easier to ease up on glasses pressure with this one over the original strap since you got more adjustment options.
So i dont really know anything about VR headsets. Can you play the same games as say the Oculous? Or is it like platforms? Where 0nly certain games are for the BoboVR and Oculous?
Oculus Quest 2 is a standalone headset it has everything you need to play games, it has its own game store, of course there are games that exist on other platforms like with consoles.
I'm unsure if I'm doing it right but the headstrap does not seem to work for me, I have a pretty big head of hair and the back piece keeps sliding up from all the loose hair making it impossible to wear properly and I'm not sure if I should just tighten it more or what
Watch some of my recent videos they address these issues, have solutions and recently there has been an upgrade kit that you could adapt here : ) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ZTrgNKPJS8.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eT-k5mMGu-4.html ( you can adapt this to yours )
The black extendable side straps do break on these after a few months. There are only a few companies who have revised with more durable material, including KKCOBVR(not recommended) and KIWI, that's here in the uk anyway, but I assume these are all Chinese, so should be the same worldwide. Hopefully BOBOVR follow suit, as this is a comfy and easy to use headstrap.
I talked to them about it, and they told me they changed the materials a while ago, so I guess it should be fixed now. Im planning on making a stress testing video for all straps.
Das + Some padding upgraded, really the most complete package at the moment if there is no budget. Comfy and got a good audio solution. The benefit of the M2 is being able to put it on and take it off super easily, but it needs tweaking and some upgrades, with its price of 38 USD, it leaves for upgrade options such as powerbanks and prescription lenses. The upgrades video is almost done so I will talk more about it there. Hope this helps
These are the WIDMOVRr ones, one of them actually randomly broke becuase of manufacturing flaws they directly told me the cause, and have quickly sent me replacement which I now have, I will have a video on them for sure, I find them to be pretty good. Meanwhile VR Wave got in touch and are going to send me one of their pairs so will see how it is, and will probably put them head to head in a video.
@@VRKommando are they the "high index" ones? Mine are pretty thick and I feel like it lessens the sweet spot, yours are way thinner. Going to order a pair but there's an option for "high index" with a tool tip that says it makes them thinner
I'm around -2:00 so mine tend to be thinner. However like current glasses tech you can get thinner compressed high index lenses. I would double check with them to make sure.
I need some assistance figuring out if I'm doing something wrong. The weight of the oculus headset just pulls this thing off of my head, it won't clamp down enough to stop it from just falling off every time within seconds.
Watch my latest video for my current setup. Make sure you have the rear clamp sitting comfortably behind your head rather than on thr upper half. other than that, a powerbank upgrade would do you wonders.
@@VRKommando Ararara 😎❄️. Mostly caught up, I'm waiting for a few more new chapters to binge read it haha, and you? .. this could be an awesome experience in vr, trying out devil fruits
I have a new video out covering that, and showing you upgrades and ways to attach a powerbank, ontop of the video you could cheat by using the optional center strap attached to the rear point and wrapping it around a power bank for a $0 solution : )
Honestly it's the best way to go about it, but if your glasses frame isn't too wide and fits your headset to the point where it doesn't tug and pull on your glasses when you take it off then it's fine as long as you are ok with it.
This video is for you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ZTrgNKPJS8.html Showing you how to tweak it. My next video will show my latest setup for it.
As a person with long hair, i have a problem with the back pad sliding around when moving my head which causes the VR headset to fall off abruptly. When it doesnt fall off, it feels like its about to constantly. Solution is to put my hair in a top-bun behind which i anchor the back pad xD
Looks like a fair price. The halo style is iffy though as its like the Odyssey+ and that when can get painful after a bit. That said, ive stapled a small black low cut sock up top as a strap and added another strap from an mp3 layer or something and mostly sorted it. Still can get a bit uncomfortable to where i may adjust here and there but at this point the heat/sweat of the pu vinyl vr cover face padding would probably be more annoying during a summer in LA. For me, the stock quest 2 seems about as uncomfortable as Odyssey+. Probably less comfortable immediately but less painful after, though i haven't used it but twice and no long session. The halo style is probably easier to staple a sock to if need be.
Its no good. I have one and regretted buying it. it slips at the back headset drops at the front. Padding at front and back is made of cheap material, its slippery and foam is so soft, does not offer much resistance to hold the strap from slipping on the head. Back strap curve not designed well only the bottom touches. Two black horns useless to stop headset falling to cheek.
Its not officially supported but I think its possible if you use some different rubber padding at the mounting points, I will try it out at some point and when I do, I will let you know how it fits
unfortunately there is one major design flaw using this headstrap if you don't use extra headphones. Due to the fact that the strap behind the internal speakers are not extended the sound quality gets dramatically reduced. Most people will play without extra headphones and i would not recommend this headstrap to them at all. Otherwise, it's very comfortable and works well for the price.
WoW ol Bobo getting back into the game.. no shit. I remember these guys back in the Google cardboard days. Wonder how this compares to the current halo strap that's already out there ? 🤔 The padding on this doesn't look as firm as the one out there by iovroigo (which I currently own) I'll be curious if they firm it up on the v2.
I have tried the alternatives, and found them to be disappointing, in contrast this one has great potential, and is well worth its price if you don't already have a solution you are happy with. The mods I mentioned and going to show in the follow up video are mostly just tweaks, you may not even find the need to do them.
I got you, these two videos, one showcases ways to improve on that if you are having issues. The other is my last optimal setup. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ur0R64mm8sY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ZTrgNKPJS8.html That said I got one more video coming which is about the m2 pro. The battery powered version. The $5 triangle pad fix works with both.
Warning. This does not fix the Oculus quest case!! This might be obvious to some, but I didn't think about it. However, I do like this headstrap. My Oculus one broke for no reason, and I needed one asap. Now I need a new case lol
i think i will get this the last one i got like this didnt work good so i went back to the stock headstrap i do like but i hate getting my hair stuck in the side parts
I ordered one from the website and canceled the order immediately, apparently they didn’t communicate with warehouse and they still sent me one for free 😂.also they updated this as the new ones comes with the same foam pads as the pro version.
@2:15 you totally glazed of this part. bro what am i doing wrong, after 30 minutes those little antenna pads screw into my skull, what do they even do? the forehead and back hold me secure, but those 2 pads on the side tops drill my brain and kill me after an hour. im ready to just cut them off!
@@VRKommando the back padding is fine with me, its those 2 antennas on top, the sideones dig into my brain and hurt like crazy. do you have a solution or video you can send me to for that? im ready to cut them off
