Instead of wasting his time telling people that's not who they are he should just say that whatever penalties his son gets it's not going to be enough 😆 He might find people then softening their stance.

That absolutely IS who you are, Daddy Ruth - YOU raised them, YOU spoiled them, YOU gave them a boat, YOU never told them no, YOU never disciplined them, YOU are paying for their lawyers, YOU are speaking for them on their behalf, YOU saw how they cheered their actions on camera, YOU are making excuses for them, YOU are downplaying it with "this is not who we are", YOU are the one they ran to after they got caught, YOU are the one that didn't teach them Responsibility, YOU will pay all their fines for them, YOU don't hold them accountable, YOU hired a freaking Public Relations firm to help lie for your punk son THIS IS 100% YOU, MOM & DAD RUTH
not always, but quite often... sometimes the parents are actually decent and the kids turn out rotten... other times the parents encourage or don't teach their kids how to behave... since we don't know, we can't really say for sure...
@@PerryCS2 We know that everything I Posted was accurate - hell, half of it was in the news story While you're defending them, as a teenager did your parents buy you a $250k boat ?!? Did your parents hire lawyers for you ?!? Did your parents leave you alone to take that quarter million dollar boat out into the ocean at age 15 ?!? Did your parents buy you alcohol ?!? Maybe best of all - DID YOUR PARENTS HIRE A PUBLIC RELATIONS FIRM WHEN YOU WERE A TEENAGER TO GO OUT AND LIE FOR YOU ?!? A PUBLIC RELATIONS FIRM For a 15 year old Who dumped garbage in the ocean Not just lawyers for the legal case, BUT A FREAKING PR FIRM FOR A TEENAGER Yeah, we all DO know EXACTLY what these parents are
So they just left a harbor where they could have disposed of it properly? I am astounded by how some people who have such abundance in their lives can literally act like rats
Now explain the trash illegal aliens dump, including human feces, in the oceans. Then explain why the City of San Fransicko is getting away with polluting the Pacific Ocean with human feces. Then explain why Chicago, Baltimore and Philadelphia look like dumps. I'll wait.....your selective outrage only proves you're a hypocrite
Underage drinking does not happen in this time era that’s something that kids did in the 70s, 80s, and 90s and there is less drunk driving than there was in the past and teens are drinking less than they did in the 90s
Mine too. She taught me better, and warned me that she would never break the law for me, lie if I broke the law, or hide me from consequences. Turns out, that kind of parenting works.
not all children imitate their parents. We have one grown son and he is not even close to how he was raised. That's not my fault he chooses to not be accountable, he's a grown man.
@@debitopia You mean rich Democrats right? Last time I checked plenty of rich people have served time. Let's see, Martha Stewart, Mike Tyson, Wesley Snipes, etc.. Should I go on? Please quit playing politics, and if you don't like America, then please leave, there are plenty of other countries that you can try and get residency in.
@@mycompasslawp.a.4328 you have tunnel vision if you think that democrats and republicans aren't both getting sent to prisons. And if one has significantly more imprisonments (which I think would be hard to prove) it would almost certainly be because they would be committing more crimes (or more serious crimes at least).
Disagree. Unless everyone on that boat said, Hey, I got a great idea...pour our boat trash into the ocean, then only those two, as my Dad would say, Knuckle heads, are responsible.
@@lamarw7757 You pilot a boat? Really? Tell me when it was that you got your USCG captan's license. I got my unlimited four years ago, and that was after I "drove" boats in the USCG for eight years. So please sir, enlighten me with your "boat piloting": knowledge, lol.
The same kind of parent that let's a 16 year old drive a car. There's more 16 year olds dying in car accidents than in boat accidents. This is Florida. We grow up on the water.
They weren't caught, they turned themselves in. I wonder if they're entitled to a bond reduction? Hopefully they don't pile on more crime before settling this.
@@gregmead2967 too bad society doesnt go after hollywood ped0philes the same way society goes after teenagers throwing 100 cans in the ocean after senior graduation. It's so embarrassing reading these comments here. The US is a sh1thole and Im glad I left.
@@gregmead2967 Also, talking to a lawyer is not "Avoiding responsibility." lmao, wow. Most boomers dont believe in rights anymore. They view "rights" as cheating or something, it's so weird. I will never pick up a gun to defend the citizens of the US, ever.
How much beer did Daddy Dearest send out with his son and 14 year old friends? I agree this is EXACTLY what Affluenza Children of Daddy Dearest were shown HOW the privileged act and why the have some many lawyers on retainers.
They should pay a hefty fine to the county's waterways clean up. Spend all summer working 4 days a week cleaning the waterways in some capacity and one 4 hr day learning about the counties water pollution. That would satisfy me.
HEY, THE RUTH FAMILY - THE APPLES NEVER FALL FAR FROM THE TREE - YOU TAUGHT YOUR SON AND HIS FRIENDS THIS VILE BEHAVIOR!!! SHAME ON YOUR SORRY A$$ES!!! TIME TO PAY NOW.
The Caps Lock key is located on the left-hand side of the keyboard, just above the Shift key. Yours appears to be stuck. How about you give it a little tappy-tap and see.
@calvincoolidge1207 I want to agree with you. Dumb kids being dumb kids and all that, but that level of disregard in a public inlet is way beyond the pale.
@@calvincoolidge1207 People lose boats for fishing out of season. Quite reasonable to lose the boat for this. And $200 is likely pocket change for these arrogant rich kids.
@@gregmead2967 That is the problem with the law. Asset forfeiture is a huge problem in America. The police use this as an excuse to legally steal from people. Even if they were smuggling drugs, stealing their boat would be morally wrong. A fine plus community service is a solution. The fine can be used towards ocean cleanup and the community service forces them to engage in some labor to learn a lesson.
Even the family’s comments are missing the point and showing a sense of privilege. It’s not about people being upset which they rightfully are. It’s about preserving our natural resources and not using the ocean as a giant trashcan. We all know they’ll get a top-notch lawyer but I hope they get fined in jail to the fullest extent of the law. They need to be made an example out of.
Lol....the government set off nukes in the ocean.....the Japanese reactor is still leaking into the ocean....there is a floating pile of garbage bigger than Texas because we dump it....I dont think this is the straw that broke the camels back
Make them pick up trash on the beaches for a year straight. That will learn them. Also make them take a class on the destructive properties of plastics thrown into the waterways.
Many commercial fisherman do the same thing. You would think they more than anyone would do their part on keeping the oceans clean but they dump all the trash into the water while out on the boat
"This action doesnt show who we are" Yes it does, along with the jeering and waving at the drone prove so! The only true colors wont be the change you make
it's Definitely a Representation of who they are! Who has that much trash on a Nice Boat or Brings trash on a nice boat to purposely Dump into these Nice but already polluted waters?? People that really don't give a Sht!!
Spoiled brats. Jail time. Community service working on cleaning the oceans and seeing what happens to marine life because of pollution. Fine them monetary amount that will make an impact and donate it to marine life charities. Take away their boating licenses.
They should also be required to do at least a year's worth of beach and ocean trash cleanup.... Every single weekend for an entire year.... Including helping the ocean wild life that will undoubtedly get tangled in it, etc etc etc.... Make that the biggest part of this "teaching moment"...
All adults should also be charged ... They were in a position of authority and did nothing a the time regardless of the relationship. The captain ultimately should be held accountable and lose his boat.
They will pay a fine and might get some community service.....at the end of the day all they did was litter. A lot of you seem to think they destroyed the ocean in this one act.....it's littering 😐
Don’t be ridiculous. The only reason is because they come from rich families. They could have been pink, blue or beige and nothing different would happen.
No, sorry you are so wrong, not in the state of Florida with Governor DeSantis ruling. Look at what happened to these guys dragging a shark to its death. They got the book thrown at them!
As far as I'm concerned, kids get some jail time as well as a few months picking up others trash. The parents should get fined. Who leaves their teenagers to take a boat like that to go drinking?
