All those kids in a single neighborhood is loads of fun for the kids, the lady that keeps calling the cops is older and needs to be in a senior area where it’s quieter. Too bad it ended badly for everyone.

I understand kids shouting and other noise really gets on my nerve at times especially when i am tired but i have proven it that if you talk nicely to the kids they will really be respectful to you..there are some that are hard-headed but when you talk to the parents in a civil manner then they will fix it for you...we just dont kill people just because kids are playing and are noisy..let kids be kids and deal with them with respect

The neighbor's children were not on her property. It's the common grassy area for ALL of the tenants, not just her. She had called the police so much for no reason, and the police knew it. That's why she got evicted after the shooting - for causing way too many problems.
Plus the children and the adults got permission from the land owner to be on that empty lot! The owner even goes out and he plays football with the children! So all that nonsense in other comments about the woman officer being biased and not upholding the law is bs! Those commenters don’t even know the full story and are just blabbering! The lady cop was a nervous wreck, like having to do her job was making her uncomfortable. You could tell just by the way she was picking at her fingers.

He was disagreeing with what she thought about the property being Susan's or if it were common space and she couldn't over-ride his decision because he was her supervisor. I think the finger picking thing was simply a habit of hers. She didn't seem like a nervous wreck to me at all. I think she just didn't agree with the other cop's assessment of the situation. But since he was her boss, and he was teaching her, she had to listen to him.

I think that once they discovered how much it upset her, they did go by her place intentionally to piss her off. That's how it comes across because there's a lot of other places those kids could play. It's obvious that neither side liked the other. None of that justifies what she did. She had 2 other options besides murdering that Mom. She could've just ignored the knock at her door or called the police again. Unless that Mom was kicking her door in, and no one has said she was, she had no reason to fire that gun. Words might hurt but bullets kill and that mother shouldn't be dead.
EXACTLY! Those kid’s definitely antagonized the situation into a beyond heated free for all! The adults should have acted like adults and unfortunately that didn’t happen. I hate to say it but the victim is not 100% free of guilt in this situation. She should have told her kids to just go play somewhere else instead of let them play in an area where this woman was apparently racist and constantly threatening to harm her children. On the other hand the older woman shouldn’t have shot the young mom. I think she felt ganged up on by the entire neighborhood and a gang of disrespectful kids which unfortunately pushed her over the limit.

The date of this body cam video is February 25, 2023. The shooting happened on June 2, 2023. The black lady with the children was the one that was shot and killed. The female cop was doing her job, fine. She just disagreed with the male cop about what was common space and what was private property because these were rental houses/apartments. I think saying she "didn't want to uphold the law" is an overstatement. It seemed like the male cop was her training officer and he overrode her about the property ownership. She did what she was told.

This female cop is 🗑️ no investigation they had prior calls and determined that never happened. It’s not that hard to do your job look at past complaints reports that are all digitally logged and available at your fingertips. This was so preventable. These kids are without a mother now… She spoke up for them this lady called them names and was awful. They were just playing basketball being kids. It's simply a matter of kids out playing and the one woman calling the police on the kids because of it. No one broke the law here so there was no reason for the female officer to arrest someone. Also, the complaining woman was known by the department to call the police on these kids a lot. The land she was living on did NOT belong to her - she was only renting. She just didn't want those children close to her apartment. The black woman was the mother of the children had not done anything wrong. She was not a person who was "charged with the offense". There was no reason that the female officer shouldn't go back and touch bases with her. The fact that you immediately went to "If 'That Female' were any other color" tells me exactly where your head is at. It is pretty sad and, honestly, disgusting. Nope: Police will make mistakes. Mistakes in judgment, mistakes in fact, mistakes of law. Like they did in the situation we just watched. The police went off of heresy and not fact. They didn’t pull certified copies of deeds, parcel and property line maps from the local assessor. The made no effort to contact the property owner. The same property owner who gave permission for the kids to play there and repeatedly told Susan, she was wrong. That area was not part of her rental property. He had designated it as a common area. But you know who will have all that legally binding information at their fingertips ? The Jury !
Kids are kids. It wasn't that woman's property to begin with. They were playing in the large grassy area that was common area of the complex. There is even a basket ball hoop in that area.
The cop with the 2 stripes on sleeves should not be supervising other cops and in fact I believe he partly to blame for what the outcome of the mother being shot. The superintendent stated that she has a rental property and that the area in front of her home is common ground it’s not her property and she is not entitled or had any legal right to keep to forbid anyone from being in front.
Did she move in to a loud neighborhood? OR did it become that way after she moved in? I can't imagine living in a noisy neighborhood - sounds like a nightmare to me.

Months after this body cam was taken, the white woman was screaming at the kids for making noise again. She shooed them away and took one of the kids tablet and threw a pair of skates at the kids, hitting one of them. The mother went to the lady's home to get the tablet back and talk to her about hitting the kid and the white woman shot THROUGH the door, without opening it, and killed the mother. No excuse for that. And no, the mother did not deserve it.

The real story: Her kids were little animals harrassing an old crazy white lady, mom tried to be a tough girl and got popped for showing up at her door thinking she was going to beat this woman up like they always do. Not excusing it, obviously this woman is nuts, but mom tried to be a tough gurl and it backfired. Finally.
The white woman had chased the kids away from where they were playing and took a tablet away from them. When they went to try to get the tablet back, the woman attacked them and hit one of them. The mom went over and knocked on the door several times wanting to get the tablet back and get an explanation. The kids were not "animals" harassing an old lady (sorry, the woman is only 58 -- that's not all that old and defenseless). I think the mom should have probably called the police instead of trying to handle the situation herself, but she is NOT to blame for getting shot. And that "Finally" at the end of your comment is truly disgusting. You need to sit with yourself and really THINK about what you are saying.

There were so many kids in my moms neighborhood & around my apartment complex. I'd always slow down when they played in the street, talked to them when I walked by, waved, said hi, asked them how school was ... they were nice to me because I was nice to them. However, not all of my neighbors or my mom's were ... and those kids would play right in front of their houses, wouldn't move to get out of the way of their cars, etc. Kids are smart ... it's unfortunate some adults aren't.
