"face tattoo" can be very misleading, because either that means scrawled across your forehead in impact font or penned in elegant cursive at your hairline beside your ear. "don't get a face tattoo" kind of only applies to the former. also if it's small it'll be easy to get lasered off so if you have a bit more money to throw away you don't even have to worry about regret. not that there's even anything wrong with bold face tattoos, just that you have to be very very sure you want them.

Not only do i want my face but i also want my neck and everywhere else visible too like hands, collarbones, upper chest etc. I think I also am extremely stubborn about not being in work environments/places where I’ll be judged for it so I’m going to get my entire body filled as much as possible YIPEEEEE

I've realized that I need to be about 30 lbs more than people expect me to be because I'm tall, and now i hate looking at myself skinny because I know I don't have the energy to lift my limbs. I HATE people complimenting me losing weight because I seriously feel WEAK and it's a reflection of how little I've been able to take care of myself. It took me years to look at skinny bodies and not feel personally uncomfortable because of the way I feel when incredibly thin.

The first time, I used Zoom, and I saw my face reflected back.... yikes!!! I was mortified and terrified. Was that my face, and am I that ugly? People are liars. I immediately compared myself to others. Their looks, body, smile, eyes, nose, upper lip, every part of me. And really for the first time ever. I think that, especially younger people, are comparing themselves to other people. And everyone is skinny with a perfect butt, ect. Atleast the ones that show it. But the "perfect" ones are only .000005% of the world, and probably less. And that % is all you're seeing. The rest of the world is normal and average and wonderful in their own way. We can't compare ourselves to less than 1% of the world. Be you! You are amazing when you are you!

They aren’t petite. Petite is height not weight. To be petite you have to be below 5’5 to be considered petite. So you can be petite at any size. It’s all about height

I grew up with a mother who has an eating disorder and instilled one in me early on. I've struggled with my weight my whole life and thought I was so much bigger than I truly was. My home life was not good and my parents both brought down my self esteem. My dad called me a f*t b***h my whole childhood. Not only this but I've also been conventionally attractive my whole life so I've gotten a lot of attention but in my head it was all bad attention. Now as an adult I have ARFD and I struggle a lot with my mental health, but I am finally getting help. But I do now see that to everyone I meet I am first seen as a pretty face, with curves, a bubbly personality, and my intelligence and struggles mean nothing. So I now find myself struggling with the balance of just letting myself be seen as some pretty face whose life must be great and oversharing the trauma I've gone through..... like I am now 😅

i think there's definitely 2 sides to the coin. there's bodychecking on tiktok, without a doubt. however, i've also seen people accuse thin women of it when they just exist in a skinny body ? it does remind me of people saying that big-chested women are inherently provocative, when they just have boobs and exist.

Ive been on eating disorder forums for like 14 years now (dear god) and since tiktok blew up, memberships have been steadily increasing again. These people post as if it's not ED stuff because they don't want to get kicked off the algorithm, but they want the validation for the ED behaviors. They know what they're doing

That’s the thing, unfortunately while they do (presumably) know what they’re doing, it’s best for us to all just steer clear of the content for sure while simultaneously providing non judgemental support for them - if they’re open to receiving it. It’s tuff but bc a lot of us have been there, we can also recognise that kindness goes a long way. I just try to avoid it all together unless it’s random tt content that the algorithm pushes towards me and someone is actively asking for support.

I’ve noticed this too from time to time. Idk how common it is statistic wise but deffo seeing so many people say that stylists don’t know how to do their job - so many of those comments are rooted in the fact that they want idols to look thin or “super flattering” (what does that even mean???) at all times. i had tiktok in 2019 and my entire fyp was body checking and ED content. i developed an ED bc of it and lost all of my teen years to depression and anxiety that stemmed from my ED. i recently downloaded tiktok again a few weeks ago but deliberately refuse to see any type of content like that. it has made my experience with the app so much more positive because i’m no longer comparing myself to every stranger that pops up on my feed. what mia said: these disorders are EVIL. the best thing to do when you come across triggering content is to block or disengage. remember if you are struggling, you will beat your ED and it is only YOU that can save yourself. fuck everyone else. fuck the fear. this is YOUR life and you deserve to be free from your mind

Mia talking about how beautiful people tend to be the most loneliest is so true. What I loved about meeting people online and making friends through video games is that people didn't know how I looked. As I got to know them and people got to see how I looked, I found I was treated so much differently, and it really sucked. Whenever I get complimented by people, its always for my looks, not my kindness or intelligence, just my looks. For the longest time I just accepted that I was nothing other than my looks and thats what people liked me for. It was a super toxic mentality and a dark road to take.. I'm no longer in that era and I like to think I'm in my boss ass bitch era. 🤣 Thank you for bringing light to this Mia, theres not enough talk about the body checking on social medias.
