Body mapping is a way of mapping the physical and mental tensions in a horse’s body through a process of pressure and yield. I developed the concept of body mapping as a way to help people understand how to feel and read a horse’s body on a deeper level.
The cool part of body mapping is that, if you need an equine massage therapist, osteopathic practitioner, chiropractor, or body worker for your horse, the body mapping process will allow your therapist’s adjustments to last longer for your horse. On the flip side, if you are an equine body worker of any kind, the body mapping process will allow you to draw more of the horse’s attention to when their body feels better. When the owner and practitioner both infuse body mapping into the horse’s therapy and training, I have found that horses move better and stay more sound well into their golden years.
