Hey Dave! I don't know where you are and what you're doing now but bro. I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for putting the time to show the world what flow arts is all about. When people get an actual skill no one these days takes credit for the people before them and thanks to you these videos you've uploaded partially saved my life because we all were put through serious mental health during covid and the truth is during the time I was a mechanical operator working hard through the late nights spending time just working alone. After I watched Marvel WHAT IF I was always fascinated by Dr.Stranges patterns when he was using those spells and said I wondered there was anything out there you can do to do with beautiful shapes and patterns. Than I ran into Poi and I immediately fell in love with it from there. I saw drex do the body tracing hybrid and I couldn't get it out of my head because saying I want to know everything there is to know about it and I ran into your whole body tracing series. Working my ass off in 50 degree weather conditions and hotter in the summers every break for half an hour from 4am to 430 am Monday to Friday because it was the only chance I got to do it and the job was super labourous and than weekends I was recovering from working so hard but I paid close to every detail you explained and trust me its 1000 times harder when you're alone and no one really understands what the hell you're doing. At first my co-workers would laugh what the hell are you doing because you work in a MANS field. Typical joes who just work. But as time progressed I covered your whole series and I've only been doing it for about 9 months covering poi but of course I'm a super fast learner from my previous background in breakdancing, tumbling, martial arts and weapons and more but you can say I'm just a bunch of talents kinda guy. But look who's laughing now! Haha But I hope you know that you changed my life bro. You really did and thank you for putting the time and your hard working craft to show us what humans are capable of. I came top 5 in the francophone games in africa for freestyle soccer and was a breakdancing champion here for 13 years and came top 5 with my crew in Korea so I know what kind of work and dedication it takes to try and figure these things out. I'm working on being all around now my strongest is of course tracers but I got all my antispin and inspin flower turns shapes and patterns now both ways and I plan on continue watching your other videos with wraps , hyperloops, tangles, and so fourth to continue the work but I just wanted to put it out there bro. THANK YOU . ALL THE WAY FROM TORONTO CANADA! 🔥🔥🔥 Hope you're doing well! 😎 ps. Pretty good swipes hahah!

Hey James! So, I saw this comment when you wrote it, but it felt like it deserved a more thoughtful response than others, so I waited until I was ready to deliver that, but as time passed I forgot where it was, and didn't know how to find it. I put the time in tonight finally found it after like an hour haha. Sorry it's taken me so long! Look, I was touched by this, and I dont know how to properly convey my appreciation, but it really meant a lot. I dont spin anymore so I dont really think about it often, but knowing that things I've done in the past have helped others in situations I know all too well really means something to me. Then and now, I am always happy to teach anyone something I know, because, as you appreciated, few people take a moment to honor the giants who's shoulders they stood on. I didn't make all this up out of thin air. I learned, for FREE, every building block I have. I never took a net profit from any festival who brought me out, as a PRINCIPAL. I didn't pay money to learn from the greats before me, I'm not going to profit off the work of those before me. In this community, I want to see knowledge for knowledge's sake, free sharing of that knowledge, and a general unity and respect for everyone in it. It's such a unique community, not just the art, but the people especially. We should help each other grow, and build off of each other. Anyway, to close, your comment meant a lot to me, and I waited this long until I was ready to say all this. I never forgot, and will never forget, how much this comment meant to me. Thank you.

Also, I've dabbled in a bit of breakdancing myself, never a champion, but I know that fuckin grind too. I was most interested in the powermoves, stopped my progression just shy of learning air flairs, but I was soo close lol. Eventually time gets to you. At 27ish my body really wasn't digging the demands of bboying ha. I had to stop. Poi, I just fell out of love with. All I have left is skiing.

Sorry I've been working alot and saw this now. No problem! Just thought you should know incase anyone else doesn't say anything. I get what you mean when you said you fell out of it. After winning alot in my city (toronto) I became bored and started learning other interesting things like juggling, freestyle soccer tricks and than now poi but just to show a bit of myself here's some links of me if you're interested. This was a few years back but you'll see there was definitely some passion. I always took everything I learned seriously. I'm 35 now and wierdly I can still do it all but mostly because I believe everything is mental and you never really lose something if you truly really love it. But hope you enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HCSGbm073Ms.html And ru-vid.com80DDILH99qQ I have better ones in my old hard drive archives but you get the point. Haha. I wasn't really a post your videos guy because back than people try to study you before a competition but around covid I recently decided I should get myself out there more. Life is short man and wanted something people could remember me by. But my goal in poi is to make the same impact as you somehow but I've just hit almost a year alone online so im planning on putting in all the hardwork and collect as many transitions as possible both ways, make it my own, and be strong all around like breakdancing which helped me learn really fast sticking to the same routines but so far its been great. Just juggling can be annoying. Not the same as juggling 3 ball or something lol Anyways wish you all the best in your skiing journey and btw looks super fun from your recent videos!! Hahah! Peace bro! You'll definitely see me in the future! A pleasure running into your page and again thank you! 😎 👊✊
