All the police had to ask or demand was an accurate picture of Jj then demand Lori to call Melanie on FaceTime with the police standing watching and confirming that the Jj was alive and well .These officers weren’t not very smart .If they had insisted that face time call would have been done at that moment ,thenLori’s Charade games would have ended right their .Then policeman could have rounded up all three of them that day ,Alex Chad ,and Lori wouldn’t have gotten away.

Looking at some of the comments. The police had been investigating on lori and Alex and already knew about chad and Tammy’s death. The police didn’t except what Lori said and just walked away. The police were going through the motions to locate Melanie and they spoke to Colby. The next day they went back to talk to Lori but Lori did a runner to Hawaii with chad . Alex/zulema and Melanie p and her new 2 week boyfriend got a quicky marriage in Las Vegas to change their last names to make it harder for the police to locate them as they were doing a runner too to god knows where but Melanie was a bit slower to move from her townhouse as the police raided her place.

Lori isn’t the brightest bulb and still is able to trick them. Good lord.
