yeah pretty much, dafins make the backstroke kick really easy so by the time I roll over i've already caught the wave and dont have to kick much. dafins are by far the best fin for bodysurfing
I'm using the regular gopro head mount. The first time I used the head mount with a floaty it was so bulky that I couldn't get the right angle, so now I just use a piece of cord and tie the head mount to my wetsuit with no floaty attached. It's a bit risky using the camera with no floaty but I just love those sweet sweet barrel shots and that wasn't possible with a floaty
@@jazzyjoe364 Thanks for the info. In the past, I have used the floaty handle and wrist mounts, but they affect my swimming. I thought about the head mount, but wondered how I could keep from losing the camera. I probably wouldn't even bother taking video, except everyone I know wants more body surfing videos. :)
@@ronhale9868 my first attempt at filming bodysurfing I was using a mouth mount. worst idea ever. (unless you need salt in your diet) but yeah having something affecting your swimming is the worst thing ever when yer just trying to have fun. that's the reason I went with the head mount, the only annoying part is having it fall off your head on every wave, but if the strap is really tight it hardly ever falls off. it's perfectly out of the way. plus I really like the angle of having the camera on your face somewhere, makes the videos seem more realistic edit: with the cord attached from my wetsuit to the head mount it feels really safe, even when the camera falls off my head. might be worth a try
