Worked at FedEx over 40yrs at SEA and BFI. Worked ramp ops on this plane and many others. Always pointed out her historical significance each time she visited our ramp. Looked good in the 2 Fedex liveries she wore but looks amazing now in that red and white.. BTW the last 15 27s that Boeing built were the only pure freighters. All others were either converted PAX aircraft or QC's.
@kevinleary7200 amazing! Thank you for that info. There are 2 of these here. I'll see if I can get the tail number of that one too. Maybe it's got the same history?
The other aircraft is G- OSRB. Line #1823. ( G-OSRA was line #1832) it was delivered to Fedex 7/10/83 as N207FE, so about a year before N217FE. This aircraft also would have been one of the 15 pure freighters. N201FE was the 1st. BTW, the reg. N201FE is now assigned to a Fedex 767.
Actually, pretty quiet inside since the engines are in back. Eastern Airlines called their's "Whisperjets"....Even the VC 10 was quiet! ..now that's a beautiful airplane.
😅 I do love this livery. I track the plane and it does laps just above sea level practising for any spills that may happen. Would love to go on their next test flight
Track in on flight radar. It usually goes out to sea and does laps just meters above sea level and then comes back again. Pretty cool. I would love to go on a test flight with them
