This marks a big milestone. It's been 3 years since I started building this RANS S-21 "Backcountry Bogey" and it hasn't truly earned it's nickname...until now. It was truly an adventure--from crazy weather to bad airmanship decisions. Regardless, I survived to fly another day and learned a ton about backcountry aviation. It's amazing how much I still have to learn about backcountry aviation.
This video includes a shortened sequence of a flight where I made some bad decisions and filmed a whole debrief where I talk about some of the things I should've done differently. Please keep the comments constructive and respectful. I admit to making mistakes and strive to do better and documenting the journey.
That said, thank you to Chris, Jeff, Nick, Jake, Lane, Pete, Ty, and everyone who taught me something on this trip. I will brush up my skills before heading back, but I'll be back soon.
