Dang brother! That sounds mighty indeed. I've never tried a Bogner amp, but this is definitely something I would be into. Stellar playing as always. Cheers
Thanks mate! If you get a chance to try out a Shiva or big boy Ecstasy in a store definitely do it. Killer amps! Unfortunately not all too common and very pricey in Europe / Uk.
Thanks, Dan, for taking the time to make this incredibly thorough video. My little Bogner arrived yesterday, so you saved me from having to read the manual! I especially like the clean tone you dialed in. Looking forward to spending some quality time with this little beast. Keep up the top notch work!
Hey Dan, it's always dangerous to me when an exceptionally talented musician like you does any kind of demo. You will make everything sound great. However what really sold me was your looping portion while you tweaked the knobs. Great job!
I got mine the day it came out and am truly impressed how good it sounds! These mini amps get criticism for being “a pedal with a power amp” but if the pedal (which new is like $250) had been rereleased as a fly rig pedal/amp without looking like a novelty head people would be like “that’s cool” and it probably would have cost the same. It sounds great, and I’m shocked at how well it cleans up with the volume knob. Yes it’s solid state, no it’s not a 100 watt hand wired tube head but it’s a fully functional great sounding amp!
Thought you were wearing a tuxedo for a moment! Good to see you back, chap. Great playing as usual and great tones from that thing. I’ve got a Bogner La Grange pedal that was my main drive for years of gigging. He makes some great stuff.
😂😂 That could be my thing. Classy tuxedo gear demos! Cheers man! I’ve always fancied the proper Ecstasy but would need to sell some body parts. This will do for now! 😂
Hey man how good is the LaGrange? I've been looking for an OD that gives me that Marshall Plexi bright and sharp attack but I tried some pedals and nothing sounded good... Is that the ultimate pedal for that?
@@incitatus634 it’s certainly the best one I had found for that classic Plexi tone. The more gain you give it the muddier it gets so if you’re looking for a high gain monster I don’t think it’ll be the pedal for you, but for classic Plexi tones it’s hard to beat in my opinion. Stacks great with another drive just like an amp, plus the volume boost after the drive works incredibly well for solos if you’re running a clean amp with decent headroom. Recently I bought a Revival Drive Hot Rod and that’s the only pedal I’ve come across that beats the La Grange, but it’s way more expensive.
Yeah my main distortion is the Le Grange pedal. Run it through a Quilter Micropro Mach2 with a line to the PA. Amazing variance in dist level. Used to gig with the Bogner Alchemist, sitting on a cab. Bogner is amazing
For its price and size it sounds amazing. Lovely playing too! Think I’m going to start collecting these miniature amp heads and see if I can blend tones 😂
Have you tried the Friedman or just watched RU-vid videos? I have one and was very impressed with it! I used it on a couple of my videos (think Summer Song) if you want to listen.
a really cool review mate! may I have a question? I am trying to get a small amp for home playing. I am just choosing between this mini ecstasy and diezel mini. what do you prefer? do this amp has as much bottom end as diezel mini? thank you! cheers
Every video I see only shows off the clean sound for 30 seconds then dedicates the rest of the video to high gain lol nevertheless this amp sounds great
If you had to choose this Diezel, the Bogner or Friedman to take with for 2 to 3 months, which would you choose? (I'm moving out of the country and most of my gear will be in a shipping container that is going over the ocean for a few months. One of these would fit in a suitcase to fly with. )
I don't know. It sounds like an effects pedal with a class D amp attached. I have yet to hear one of these do what my Shiva can do. Coupled feedback. That situation where the guitar and amp engage in a sympathetic harmonic vibration that is Oh so musical. I have yet to hear ANY solid state or chip driven device accomplish that.
With respect, I think you are missing the point of these amps. They aren’t in any kind of competition with flagship, all valve amps that cost 6-10 times more cash. These are fun little amps that are great for various situations.
