From what I’ve gathered this show is a very depressing and cynical view of the world. And sadly it’s very realistic.

Secretariat’s death really foreshadowed bojacks attempt. Secretariat in all the forms we saw him as were him being happy; and all the times Bojack was in front of a camera he was happy(on the outside). It’s too bad that they didn’t end the show with an episode without bojack; wrap up how the world moves on but the ones closest will be scarred. Could have been so much better if we got to see PB breakdown completely.

Rue and Bojack They are the only two TV characters that legit break my heart at least once an episode. I can't watch Rue without my own anxiety acting up and watching Bojack is like hearing a echo of my own self negative talks. Thanks to the amazing writing and acting of the both of them I finally after 20 years of fighting this shit am seeking help and I have to say it feels really really good to talk about it.

This show really did make me a lot more careful about how I handle my relationships and actions. It's far fetched, but the absolute fucked situations Bojack got himself into are universal, and I never want to be stuck in his shoes.

This show genuinely pops up in my mind at work more than any other. So much happens in the show but the craziest part is how much of it stays in my memory. I've never watched a show so beautifully hauntingly realistic. The only downside is it makes me sad to remember all the progression built across the show and knowing how things ended with Bojack personally. I've never been the same since I finished it.

I think something that isn't talked about enough is the fly named Eddie. Bojack is living in a wrecked house and is freezing in the winter because of the broken door eddie fixes it and the over the course of the next year helps bojack every day to fix it. Bojack doesn't that him once but instead asks why he doesn't fly he then snoops around Eddie's House and finds out that Eddie is fly because of something related to his dead wife. Bojack pushes him of a roof to make him fly and then understably overreact an then Eddie fly up really high with bojack trying to commit suicide. They land in a lake and bojack pulls Eddie out. Eddie starts screaming i dont wanna live and bojqck just walks off. The next morning bojack destroys the house and leaves Eddie telling him to suck a dick and leaves him. Bojack was the only person Eddie had a relationship with for years and then just abandoned him when he wanted to commit suicide. Even for bojack that pretty funked up

I just realized when bojack is talking to sarah during 0:58 some guy says let’s take it back to “prickly muffin” which is coincidentally the song Sarah Lynn wrote later on, the writers of this show are literal geniuses with foreshadowing and other shit.

“I know that I can be selfish and narcissistic and self destructive but underneath all that, deep down, I’m a good person. And I need you to tell me that I’m good. Diane… tell me, please Diane, tell me that I’m good.” I felt that pretty deep. I didn’t even know I was as bad as I was until I found that I was alone and everyone I knew, family included, didn’t want anything to do with me. I did some self reflection and realized that I was a terrible human being with a bad case of narcissism. Before that, I was convinced I was doing the right things and being the best person I could be for those around me. I still feel afraid of being the way I used to be.

Notice how in the 1:15 clip Bojack is telling Sara Lynn to never stop smiling and never stop dancing and that in the last scene of the show with Sara Lynn she’s singing about never stop dancing…yeah

I think that the thing about bojack horseman is that so many people tell him he's a bad guy from his past actions, and he embeds that idea into himself so no matter how many times he want to be good, he remembers the shit people told him and I feel like that holds him back so he continues to do bad things to people thinking it will never change. I think the thing that he lacks is that he actually CAN change. he can change his OWN actions and his OWN life. but his persona is driven by hollywoo and the people around him. Blinding him from the fact that even if a person did a bad thing, they can change their actions to never do it again. We all can change. Thats the process of evolving and growing. we're always. growing.

You see Bojack talk to Sarah Lynn under the table: he's not being mean at all: he's trying to help Sarah Lynn not get frustrated and hurt as he was by his mother. His mother had to please everyone in her life and never doing what she really wanted, because she knew what her dad would do to her if she snapped, she feared her husband hurting her like her dad hurt her mother. It's insane how things get passed on from generation to generation and goddamn between people from different families again and again, not only by couples, but something as casual as what Bojack said can have a lot of impact on a person, and the worst part is Bojack is not aware he's messing her mental health, he's actually trying to help her, but he doesn't even know what being good is. He thinks because he's successful he's alright. That's why when he's not successful anymore he realizes he wasnt really ok that time, he was just distracting himself with sex, drugs, alcohol and not actually being happy, maybe sometimes he felt joy, but his deep troubles were still making him fail at interpersonal relathionships, only allowed to do that because of the money he made and the role he had on production. Bojack didnt actually even think about that, he was not aware he was being an asshole, he was just being like his parents, because he didnt know any better and they passed on their own troubles to their son. All that darkness is not Bojack, it's the illness he's under, that was passed on to him when he couldn't make most decisions for himself, didnt have a safe and healthy home or friends, and didnt receive any support. People gets mad at assholes but what people dont understand is some people are not really assholes they got ill from their parents and maybe to them by their grandparents from both sides. What they are doing wasn't created by them: someone taught them those things, or that was the only thing they could see at home and at school.

The fact that in the last scene with Dian on the roof...they chose "the rollingstones-wild horses" as the music score...genius. Saddest song i ever heard
