They make some really good knives in Germany. Good steel. I've had Puma fixed blades, and folders. One, I bought in the 70's, the other in 1983. Both are still in excellent condition. Except for some scratches on the blades. I hate to admit it, but I can't sharpen worth a darn.I can't tell you how many knives I've dulled while trying to sharpen them. At one point I was so frustrated that I would buy a knife, carry it until it was dull, put it up and buy a new one.
A knife made of Germany I always wanted was a puma. I think it was called the white Hunter. They still make it but it is not pure German. There are some really great sharpeners on the market that make it easy the workshop Precision Pro is one of them it is Affordable and it is really good and takes the guess work out. Those years were good for German Puma knives. I'm really glad you stopped by thank you!
Just an FYI: If the Boker knife has the Tree symbol on it, it is made in Solingen, Germany. The Tree is a symbol of quality in Germany. That is a really beautiful example of a vintage knife.
I bought a few gift Bokers 2 or 3 years back and said Germany country of origin on the site but China on the blade 🤢. I haven’t seen pinned shields on Boker for years but do prefer the old Solingen carbon . Seems like with the advent of super glue it’s just over used. That is a good looking stag scale knife you have
Beautiful Knife. Some are not made in Germany and if it doesn’t say it on the tang stamp it’s not the real deal. Also the China knives have Stainless Steel Blades.
Yeah that's what I heard when I email them they said that a lot of them are a hybrid Parts made in China and disassembled in Germany. Thank you for stopping by
pleasure to see real man's knife used to cut wood leather rope package tobacco letters. I review dozens of knife makers here French and individual backwoods forgers. I love all the work . An imported gaudy $2500 + folder that will never cut wood rope twine carboard salami cheese bread bank line para cords. It is a shame. I don't want to wipe my behind with priceless silk. A knife has to have a LIFE in its intended form and function. I saw your folding Boker . I knew you would understand. The knife has cut wood leather tobacco meat bread cardboards....... Thanks Richard@@sixgunslingin
