I like how every metal band has these complex riffs for which you almost need a university degree to understand them. And then Bolt Thrower comes trolling around with their pure but simple awesomeness
I'd say it is actually harder to write riffs that on their own could carry a whole song than 20 riffs that you just throw in peoples faces and call it "prog".
Even more valid today than when you wrote this a decade ago. Music doesn't need to be complicated or super innovative to be enjoyable. Sure, it's always good to have innovators in every genre, but it's not what most people find the catchiest.

All Bolt Thrower does is rock. My favorite band of all time, got me into death metal before heavy metal. I skipped Heavy Metal and just went straight to death metal after I heard For Victory. Thank you Bolt Thrower, for being my best friend.

I was present yesterday for their European Tour, France date, it was MASSIVE. And their merchandising was incredibly cheap. To all real Bolt Thrower fans, DON'T BUY OVERPRICED SHIRTS online from random fuckers on ebay, these guys are douchebags, they just make profit on the band, that's disgusting. Bolt Thrower are not only great musicians, they're great people, they don't have any interest for lazy cash grabbing, they're giving the best of them for their fans. Worship the merch ! I swear to God as an avid fan of punk and loud heavy brutal yet fun bone crushing death, black and thrash metal this specific performance of this song with good sound quality headphones at full volume is as real and badass as it gets !

I'm just now discovering this band (I'm relatively new to death metal) and this one song encapsulates everything I love about the genre. I'm also somewhat new to WH40K, so this is the perfect find to cement my nerd obsession.
It circulates in press and passed around as gossip or even as an undeniable argument that Slayer play war music. While I like and respect many of their songs, to me that title has belonged and will forever be bonded to the mighty BOLT THROWER. This is not only war music: this is WAR. Awesome company. R.I.P. How insane must it have been for someone to stumble into a BT show not having ever heard them, and then hear this shit !!!?? A riff that you don’t have to figure out - it’s just there in your face - and you know it’s one of the heaviest things you will ever hear on this earth. I recently started listening to Bolt-Thrower even though I heard of them in probably ‘91 . Good for me though ! Now, I’ve got new ( to me) incredible heavy metal music to listen to!!!!
