@@marxistaredpill I wouldn't say dead, more like slowly dying. I mean there is some bands that are kind of keeping it alive and they are all in the underground scene. Like we need another Pantera band, something that will give metal a jumpstart again. But that won't happen because record company's don't look for anything unique anymore, instead they keep signing bands that sound the same.
I was born and 95 and live for this kinda music. Though a lot of the bands are still around, I kinda wish I could’ve been a little older to be able to witness this in person
@@HonkeyKongLive I haven’t been able to find many new bands that carry the same vibe/quality, not the best era for rock/metal (at least it’s not as mainstream and harder to find). Any suggestions from anyone though and I’ll gladly have a listen
too young to really know how it was. 80-85 as a birth year is pretty much the sweet spot to really understand and be with the 90s crowd. you need to live through it as a teenager or early twenties to really understand it.
long time I didn't like groove metal,and Machine head too, but now i really like first album, and davidian, i think, best song from it! and live performance is amazing

In a nutshell he wasnt a stuck up dick, or n asshole to everyone. Last time i saw was in 2002, went w/my friend mark strassberg to the bay area so he could finish a tattoo n it was the night before the raider won the championship game n kontos told us to go to the colosseum for the tail gate party in oakland n hed meet us there cuz j.hetfeid called him up n metallica was playing b4 the raiders game. We roLdup n they did. Bad ass n the raiders won n went to superBowl but lost to tampa.
By the way kontos plays for a zeppelin tribute band every sunday @the Alameda colosseum in oakland after footballseason is over. They kill it, saw it back n 2002 like 10,000 zepp fans show up to rock out.
Aah yes, still have this on old VHS tape. NOSTALGIA! Machine Head in their best time! and the album ''Burn My Eyes'' as highlight of their career! Great times! I also have Type O'Negative', Biohazard etc. from that festival on VHS.
I love 90's metal bands like pantera Korn crowbar and all but I really wish MH kept this sound through 99 01 but 97 more things change was cool especially ten ton hammer but this is the og MH 💪👊\m/

Honestly I prefer this hard cut ending with the palm mutes much, *_M U C H_* more over what they've been playing for the past 10-15 years with the super stretched long chords also the dude in the back at 4:06 is absolutely into it
Everybody keeps going on about how Pantera's Domination breakdown is the heaviest fucking thing ever, i think this breakdown shits all over Domination. I also think Pantera shits all over Machine Head. Not to take anything away from Machine Head, they're sick. i seen them in concert back in 99..... i was pretty spaced out back then, but if i remember right, they toured with Pantera, and maybe Slayer... So yeah, im pretty stoned ill stop rambling.
I saw Machine Head Live at Graspop and it was one of the best shows of my entire life! They played this song at the end of the concert and they really killed it! Brilliant and heavy! 🤘🔥 Hope they come to Germany anytime soon!
