Former Trump national security adviser John Bolton joins CNN's Kaitlan Collins to discuss the international implications of a second Trump term in the White House. #CNN #News
@@CookieMonster-- Under Trump, drone strikes accounted for more civilian casualties than the combined 2 terms of Obama & Bush's second term. Under Trump, the world was far more destabilized as threats to leave NATO, allowing China to expand naval presence in SE Asia & The Pacific while rubber stamping Russian military growth. Trump joined Hitler & Mussolini as the only leaders of developed countries who, in the past 90 years, incited attacks on their congress. In just 4 years, the Trump administration had more criminal indictments than all the administrations combined in 240 years. Just facts.
YES they CREATED him but now they cannot control him, they GOT WHAT THE WANTED a dictator. Did they not learn anything from Putin, the bathroom accidents and the like, the plane crash, tally is at about 11 or 12. GOOD LUCK SUCKERS!!!! Ye reap what ye sow?
It would have been nice for Bolton to have come forward with this information when it counted. Instead he saved it for his book to help line his pockets.
@@SS-zg6ofif only he was as compassionate as Strangelove. Bolton is a hawkish grifter who just happens to have better diction than Trump. Unless and until he declares he’s not voting for Trump and actively encourages other to do the same I have no time for him.
Bolton DID come forward. Trump had the government sue Bolton to try to silence him. Bolton had to go through a tremendous amount to finally get his book to the public. Bolton came forward as soon as he could. He has been warning us about Trump for several years now. And his book makes him a TARGET for Trump. Even Mike Pompeo called Bolton a "traitor" for publishing his book. (I happen to know Pompeo personally). To those who do not understand why Bolton takes the positions he does on Foreign Affairs, it most definitely is NOT because he in any way "likes war." There's a tremendous amount that a person needs to know to understand why Bolton takes a position and gives advice. Bolton KNOWS what the rest of us do not. He's not always right, but he does always have INTEGRITY. The One Person who could really solve the majority of our international problems would indeed be Mr. Bolton. Bolton doesn't write his books to "line his pockets." He does it to provide an important contribution to World understanding of complex situations and to help PREVENT problems. If you think he makes a boatload of money from his books, you're wrong. He is a very good writer, and his books are a fascinating read, which is unusual for nonfiction. He likely could have lived a very cushy life as a writer of novels, but instead he chooses work that requires him to deal with some of life's most intractable problems, and be at work by 6:00 AM and rarely home before 11 PM. Not easy. If you know any American who's considering voting for Trump (anyone, even someone you meet online) just get them to read the new 2024 Foreword to John Bolton's book "The Room Where it Happened: A WHite House..." (I believe it's only in the 2024 PAPERBACK). That foreword will convince them not to vote for Trump.
@@PatriotsHateTheLeft46everything he does is transactional with the focus on his bottom line, or "the brand". He could care less about America, the constitution, citizens and patriots. It's all about kissing Trumps backside for favors
Or one with a profound lack of compassion and curiosity about the world who only thinks of ways to get even and get away with his next scam? Even more frightening is one who never bothered to potty train but poops his diapers in the company of foreign heads of state? Yes I can imagine it all too well because we lived it.
More frightening, one with a profound lack of compassion but overabundance of revenge and greed who fills his diapers in the presence of foreign heads of state.
Don't forget Haley! She said she will support him, as well, if he becomes the R nominee! It is all about power...republicans care nothing about our democracy! Vote blue up and down!
Bolton should have spoken up while in the Trump administration. To only speak up while releasing books is disgusting. He is no better than Trump. History is watching these people.
Trump used Bolton to make Iran think Trump was serious about attacking them because Bolton is a war monger. Trump would mock Bolton in meetings by saying "Let me guess John, you want to nuke them." Its amazing how you hate a man who diffused tensions and made peace all over the world. And so you know, Biden tried to meet with Kim Jung Un. Kim Jung Un told Biden FU. And BTW, Bolton is lying in this interview, basically brainwashing you.
I think he may have done so a couple of times on Fox, but not on the prime-time propaganda shows run by Hannity, Ingraham and the like. You’re right that they probably wouldn’t let such a strident critic speak on one of those shows, unless it was to lampoon them.
@@vincentcalderone5956 That's an absurd claim. But you obviously don't like John Bolton, which is ok. Can you be more specific? What's the main reason you don't like John Bolton?
The problem with Bolton is that he waited to voice his concerns _in his book_ instead of voicing them when it was happening. He was more concerned about making _money_ than national security. 🙄
And he still is.All this coverage is about the sales of his new book.He is a far right sellout.Even know he is making trump look like the idiot that he is,he still makes my stomach turn.
Bolton did give testimony against Trump at the impeachment hearings!! This guy was hired and fired by Trump then turned against him for money. That impeachment trial was a big farce and another dismal failure of the Biden Camp. I agree though that Bolton only wants to make money for himself.
Narcissists think the entire world revolves around them. Totally makes Trump unfit. Yes, dictators will take advantage of Trump and he won’t realize that’s happening!
@@vangiaido1285 The U.S. is producing far more oil and gas under Biden than it ever did under the smelly dump. Also, there is no way to keep migrants from coming across the border. Walls are useless. BTW, our economy relies heavily on those migrants for their cheap labor and losing that would hurt all of us far more.
@@vangiaido1285 Not in the least being hypocritical. We are producing more oil and gas for export to make up for the decrease of production elsewhere like from Russia that the European countries had relied on in the past. The conversion away from fossil fuels is still an important objective but the fact remains that people still need to keep warm and cook their meals in the meantime, I'm sorry you don't understand how things in this world works.
While there is much merit in what Bolton has to say, it still sticks in my craw that he held out for a fat book deal when his voice could instead have played a significant role in the impeachment effort against Trump. Bolton took cash and turned his back on the country, and for that I cannot forgive him.
So many more who said in interviews "as I wrote in my book...[insert criticsl information here]". I have the same feeling towards all of them. Rich people putting money before country.
*Bolton - Merchant of Death - can't understand that dictators fear Trump, which is why, from Gaza to Ukraine, we now have well over a half million dead under Potato Joe.*
I got along with Putin and that's a good thing. As we watched the Trump Putin televised announcement by Trump saying he trusts Putin over his own intelligence agency. Sickening.
Trump was and is paranoid about the CIA and FBI and other federal agencies undermining him and working against him. He sees them as part of the so-called ‘deep state’. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Russian FSB agents have been feeding him disinformation about this for decades.
Hahaha! They are part of the same corrupt swamp as Bolton. What's sickening is so called liberals kissing Bolton's butt because he said orange man bad. Gripe about systemic but loves the system. Makes no sense
The first thing I would have said as a reporter would be to correct the statement Trump just made. Kim Jong Un is not the leader of over a billion people. North Korea has a population less than Canada. Like 25 or 26 million.
Yeah, that really jumped out at me. Without even looking it up, no way the geographically small and economically backward North Korea has a population over 1 billion. Trump doesn't know the difference between North Korea and China.
Geez. I had to scroll a long way to find a person with the knowledge to fact check this basic and large error... Sadly very few of his target audience would know the names of foreign leaders or who and how many they represent...
your boy thinks hes friends with Putin. this whole "false russia" narrative is funny, Trump is openly exhalting both Putin and Xi. This man thought a "friendship" with Kim Jung Un would end North Korean aggression. Get over your unfit candidate. @@zalronwow7222
I truly xan't understand how anyone does not see D. T. as a fraud. Career people on his staff thought they could hold him back. Fortunately, they did to some degree. His henchmen just fed the beast.
The support for Trump is strictly "tribal." His supporters remember things like "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists." And "Get that son of a bitch out of here, he's fired", referring to Colin Kaepernick and the "take a knee" action. And they remember "I will build a beautiful wall" and "Lock her up!" and "My first act as your president will be to repeal and replace Obamacare!" All those things pertain to brown people, black people, or women. That's what his supporters want. They want him to Make America 1958 Again.
Well, you are consuming supposed democrat leaning news that has a war mongering far right psycopath as a regular guest. Did it ever occur to you that you are being shoveled as much BS as the people watching Fox and support Trump?
America is not a democracy. The very fact that you are ignorant about this and you have been scared into a corner about something this false is quite amusing. “American democracy” 😂
Yet, he is winning. I think it is amazing that there are people who think that Trump is a fool whilst he is able to topple every thing thrown at him. Underestimating your enemy whist he has a knife to your throat.
In all my 57 years, I have never witnessed such a substantial number of former presidential administration players so openly speak out against trusting a candidate for another term. It's a stunning and very sobering difference.
its probably due to the fact that during your 57 years of minimum wage jobs, you never had to plug your brain in and observe reality. So here you are today, watching CNN of all partisan networks, and you think you are informed about complex politics because "CNN said so". I swear to god, boomers should have to go back and redo the 6th grade.
@@alexeyeryomin2962 Also Biden is not facing 91 criminal charges. Has not had a jury hand him an 84 million $ defamation judgement. etc. etc.etc. Trump is the epitome of privilege, entitlement and corruption.
Not that dictators want to, it's that they have already taken advantage or had kompromat on him. Putin is the prime example. Trump is the gift that keeps on giving.
I’m reminded of homelander at the end of season 3 of the boys. If you’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about. I’ve never been this scared of America in my life.
Why? If he were going to crown himself god emperor why didnt he do it in 2020? If anything it would be even harder to do now. But keep that fear, as long as you do we will get a new trump every 8 years FOREVER. Much better than thinking critically, thats for sure.
Remember NATO members laughing at him when he wanted them to increase their defense spending to. meet their promises? Or how Biden approved the Russian pipeline giving them billion$$$? Biden told Putin 'A small incursion into Ukraine would be okay'??? Biden offering Zelensky a plane ride out of Ukraine??? Lead from behind Biden while EU and UK leaders provide support first, supply weapons first?? The world is laughing at Biden.
With all of these warnings from his former close aides, why is he still the presumptive Republican nominee? What has happened to the Republican Party? Have they all lost their freaking minds?
nope.....Money...and ALSO....the historical possibility.....much like a first woman prez, or like Obama, the first "black"....it's stupid. Who cares?! we need a good prez, a trustworthy, loyal American....we don't need Isolationism, or an autocrat who cares about himself first....we need to get away from this inward thinking, and start being the number 1 country we were already named as......and I'm a republican....but he doesn't hold my interests
Perhaps the most pathetic human in history. But he's the "best" they've got. The GOP has dug itself into such a deep hole over the last 7-8 years and they just keep digging. My former party is unsavable at this point, and it will take at least a generation to overcome. Quite possibly two generations.
It's fascinating to watch. Republicans are a minority party. Instead of expanding its platform to pull in more voters, it's driven itself onto the rocks.
Hey dude we are paying a huge price with Biden as president. Just look at the State of this Republic. Border mess. Iran attacks. High crime high gas high food prices. High interest rates. Americans are hurting financially. Keep drinking the kool Aid. Criminals are not scared of getting caught. No we need law and order restored in this country
Every time I hear Bolton speak out it just burns me up. Where was he before he got his book deal? Whether he makes a good point now, I hope he has a hard time looking in the mirror every day.
From someone (very unimportant) who lives in the southern hemisphere: Trump scares the crap out of me. Americans, please don't put him back into a power position.
yea American being number 1 and not depending on other countries should scare alot of ppl..imagine if the US put all its resources into Americans and not 3rd world countries..yes you would be screwed buddy
@CookieMonster--Gee whiz no wars...so my kid served in Iraq with missiles hitting his base wasn't war? Afghanistan again no war.. No Korea no war there either.? Hmmm dream or ignorance 🤔
Bolton was smart enough to know what Trump was all about when he originally fervently supported Trump and accepted his role as Security Adviser. So, now we are to believe Bolton suddenly has a brain?? Mr. Bolton, where was your better judgement and concern for Democracy back when Trump ran for President the first time??
History is littered with those who know what their bosses are or aren't. But they still think they can make a difference and do a good job. Bolton found out that he couldn't and should have had the courage to pull the fire alarm much sooner than he did. Being smart enough to know, which he was, doesn't mean you have good judgment or use it well all the time. The latter is just one of Bolton's problems. At least he can give us more first-hand evidence of Trump's flaws, too, which are bigger and more dangerous.
@@CookieMonster-- when Trump was president there were two wars being fought. Guess you forgot about Crimea and the Donbas region of Ukraine, in addition to the war in Afghanistan. You should probably stick to simple things, I’m sure you’re better at them.
A person who votes for Hillary Clitoris, sleepy Joe and their endless crimes in life should not be in the war in Ukraine defending the Nazi leader of that country? since they are financing this war with American money 🤔
''I have President Putin here beside me and he says it wasn't Russia interfering in our Elections and I don't see any reason why it would be Russia interfering in our Elections.'' Donald tRUMP Helsinki Finland
That almost made me sick to my stomach to see him on stage with this former KGB officer, who has nothing but disdain and outright hate for this country, and hear him take Putin's side. That is treasonous, in my book.
@CookieMonster--there were wars in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Trump wanted to lob missiles into North Korea, attack Iran, and even threw out the idea of nuking a hurricane. He should have been eliminated as a National Security Threat on January 7th, but fortunately for him everyone does not shit on the Constitution like he does
Trump escalated the war in Afghanistan by increasing airstrikes which led to a 330% increase in civilian deaths. He also came close to tweeting the US into a nuclear war with North Korea. Trump also withdrew from a working nonproliferation agreement with Iran. Trump's attempted trade war with China was also a dismal failure!

Bolton was a Trumper. Buyers remorse may be real, but a man of his intelligence and experience knew exactly what he was doing, and was unable to resist. Just think how many people made similar decisions as Bolton, the lawyers, General, AGs ex Lovers, were highly praised when hired and trashed when quitting.
I doubt Bolton realized how big an incompetent fool Trump was until he saw and heard it for himself. Bolton is vile, but he believes in the security of America, and was forced to recognize that Trump is a threat to it.
Well he did quit (or get fired?) because of his frequent disagreements with Trump behind-the-scenes. It is not really appropriate for these people to be publicly disagreeing with or contradicting the President, while they are serving under him. I can't see that leaving office over the disagreements suddenly makes Bolton less credible than if he had broken etiquette and voiced the exact same concerns a few months earlier.
Wow, Kaitlan Collins delivers a superb interview. She speaks clearly with the right pace and does not mangle words like her star counterpart at CNN Anderson Cooper.
I was in Africa when he was president and the news media was making fun of him and laughing at his stupidity. How can our country go so far down the rabbit hole
Mr. Bolton is one of the most trustworthy individuals to speak about Trump's lack of capacity to guide and guard foreign policy regards adversaries in times of crisis. I find his insights sound observations most people will concur with.
