@@sambaker2387 A controlled explosion means that you detonate it when you want and on your terms, if there's no safe method to remove it from situ then it's done where it's found. The IRA loved a booby-trap, basically any attempt to move the vehicle would've been too dangerous (remember the railway and houses run pretty close to TVC, so it's more preferable to detonate it near an empty building than near the Wood Lane estate, or the tube.

Yes it did. I don't think the RIRA gave a shit for the old bbc. It was well known that they were biased as hell and yes always talked a load of bollocks about the Irish. Warnings were given and well believe what you want. Rumour was it was detonated behind a fecking wall with a Nokia phone.
