Bondi Rescue follows the work of the elite professional Lifeguards who patrol Australia’s busiest beach. This is Australia’s real life Baywatch! One thing you notice - even though this could be a life or death situation she said NO to being lifted or held or whatever and they listened and found another way straight away - It is NOT HARD to listen for a no and she was mostly incoherent, had passed out and nearly died drowning and STILL said no - says a lot for all those people who don't listen and go past the 'no'. Brilliant job fellas.

I've dealt with explosives. Not a "bomb" (explosion, shrapnel, pressure wave, etc.) , but Phosphorous (it says it on the label) ignites to thousands of degrees in temperature instantly (Incendiary). Very dangerous substance.

How is it stressful? You need to be a brilliant swimmer, need to train everyday to get fit, they do competitions to see which part is the fittest of all the lifeguards. They save lives in all different countries.

My favorite part is 18:59-19:03 when the lil boy knows the signal for help in case you are drowning, his lil hand in the air was so adorable and little did he know help was on the way. Fun fact: The “bomb” is actually a aircraft parachute flare that is used to illuminate the area it’s deployed in, I don’t know Australia’s equivalent to the US one, but we know it as the LUU-2 or LUU-19 Aircraft flare. DESPITE how it looks, they are quite light actually… I’ve had to deliver some to a Rescue squadron and it almost went flying out of my hand due to me anticipating it to be heavy

I’m actually curious how much lifeguards at Bondi get paid. I mean it is a job but it’s a high risk job. They put their lives at risk a lot to save other people. They put their personal lives on hold in order to do their jobs at times. They are trained to save lives, stop thieves, stop perverts, help drunks. They’re practically paramedics and police rolled into one and then lifeguards on top of that. It’s an amazing amount of work and I really hope they are well compensated for it

Inhaled alot of water first few times i went snorkeling, didnt think it was enough to go to the hospital ended up having a terrible non stop cough for over 2 weeks. I mean it was a struggle to not cough every 1 or 2 minutes no matter what i did. Idk what the hospital could have done but i was stupid for not going anyway

My cousin came to Australia (were I live) from America from holiday, she visited Bondi before going to Melbourne to see my family and she almost died, he »s never been outside of America and is used to slow waves and calm waters so it was shocking for her. I was life guard for a summer at a lake and beach life guards, especially in places with rough waters like Australia, are built different and I have a great deal of respect for them and I thank them for saving my cousin

They are so brave! I would be so freaked out in those conditions. But that’s what they train for! I want to be a lifeguard when I am older but to see this it reminds me that they go through so much to save other people. They would go through hard and stressful times.

I remember when my sister as a child got swept away on a public beach in Italy. My father had to save her because there was no lifeguard in close proximity. And that was most likely at the same time as this was filmed. So many other beaches were just open without the necessary security, so I'm grateful they provide it at Bondi.

The snakes are pretty bad… I’m used to them now so I can just pick them up with my hands. Grab the body and gently hold the lower head. Doesn’t hurt the snake (I’ve gotten this advice from experts)
