Bondi Rescue follows the work of the elite professional Lifeguards who patrol Australia’s busiest beach. This is Australia’s real life Baywatch! Taking the viewers on their journey through mass rescues, drownings, resuscitations, shark sightings, and all number of the weird and wonderful experiences Bondi Beach dishes up.
In #BondiRescue the audience sees the action through the eyes of real characters and #lifeguards like Hoppo, Deano, Reidy, Jesse, Maxi, Whippet and Harries, as they catch thieves, perform CPR, make drug busts, break up fights, and even handle a navy bomb that washes ashore one afternoon. I remember an episode way back when some researchers measured how much these guys moved around in a day and it was like a half marathon EVERY DAY!! They deserve a quiet winter. Thanks, all of you for a job well done.

I'm sure you do. A stranger would care this much if you said I'm going to swim across this bay and then disappeared. Listen if you are feeling like no one cares speak to someone and see if you can get some support. Sorry, if I'm sticking my nose in but I've been there. It's ver important to talk to people as otherwise, it will get much harder.

My admiration for these lifeguards has grown with each episode. It's not just what they do, but how they do it, their positive attitudes, & genuine concern for the people they watch over,. Really a stellar group of dedicated pros, who have saved so many lives, without egotism or showing off. Just amazing.

@@boogieheads Never had any ankle problems before the fracture(s). It's as good as new now though..5 yrs later, still have 2 plates and screws but most time I forget it ever happened...until seeing this 😳

I remember being swept out in Newquay Cornwall as a kid and survived because i was always told to look to the sky and put your hand up and wave and help will come, but i suppose if you’ve never been taught the ways of the water its very easy to underestimate its sheer power

Dislocations are tricky. Once done, that joint will never be the same again. I once dislocated my ankle years ago, chasing my dog for a bath on a gravel road in flip-flops. Now, it just doesn't have the stability, and I can't run anymore. What I can do, however, is pop it in and out without any pain whatsoever. 😂 The big toe on the same foot was also dislocated about a year after, and the same thing! lol~

I’m as an orthopedic RN, I never had an dislocated ankle come across in my 4 years of working on the orthopedic floor or my many years as a home health nursing did I come across someone who had one. You see many people in home health and their family members.

If I was young and healthy and single, I am widowed. I got married at 24 years old; three years after graduating nursing school, I would travel to Australia. I have read up on Australia, and know it is a beautiful country. I would only visit because I just couldn’t stay away from family. Maxie loves his family just like I do. He is so kind and respectful and has such decent morals. Everyone in the world needs to be reared like Maxie and the whole wide world would be a better place.

Well I suppose that you don't wanna bother lifeguards when you think the situation is under control, "hes calm, a good swimmer" which basically means he wasn't worried until he assumes his cousin should have come back, I agree he should have at least alerted the disappearance just in case but if its not urgent I can see why he waited

Maxi saying he wanted to work at Bondi forever strikes a chord all these years on now that it's been years since he moved to something else - firefighting I think. Just an innocent indication that happened to be recorded of how our lives change in ways we don't expect or anticipate. Either way, glad to have these old clips and hope he's gotten on well after he left the beach.
