Bombay / Karachi is a popular Indian sweet dish made with cornflour sweetened with sugar, ghee, flavoured with cardamom and garnished with nuts

Ingredients
1 tsp cardamom pdr
1/2 cup cashewnuts
50 grams cornflour
100 grams Ghee
1 tsp lime juice
200 gram s sugar
125ml ml watar
Directions
Take a bowl add sugar and water bring it to a boil, add lemon juice.
In a small bowl add water to corn flour mix well so that it dosent form any lumps.
In a non stick pan add ghee do not switch on the flame now add cornflour mixture to it and mix, now switch on the flame very low.
when the mixture is thinking switch of the flame and add sugar surip little by little and keep mixing to avoid lumps repeat the same till suripe is completed.
Now switch on the flame and keep mixing now add ghee very slowly keep mixing repeat the same process till the ghee is completed.
Now add colour,cardamom powder cook till ghee is oozeing out,now add broken cashew nuts mix well once it is done transfer it to a plate.
Grease the plat with ghee and pore the mixture keep a side for 1hr and cut into small pices.

So many people upload videos for cooking. Maybe they are good in cooking but YOU ARE GOOD IN COOKING AND EXPLAINING .... You are a person who knows how to teach others and I love the way you give "logic" for each step...like you were explaining "why to add lemon juice" Really your videos in cooking are awesome :) Thanks for sharing with the world :)

Chef i have seen Pakistani chef add oil instant of ghee.can we make with oil because in winter ghee sets n it does not give transparent look.

hello chef.. can u tell me that the corn flour can be used of yellow colour as i cannot find white flour here in brasil and also can we use butter instead of ghee.. pls confirm.. I tried making with maida and it didnt come out well as it was not like jelly

I tried it..it was looking good shiny n glossy while it was hot..but after cooling the clr of the halwa changed..it became little densed.. n not as tranparent as it was before..why.so..can u plz tell..?

What is the Indian/Tamil word for cornflour? Is it the same as cornstarch? Corn flour here is yellow and quite coarse. Corn starch is white but is generally used for thickening. Is the latter item that has to be used for this recipe? Looks delicious and need to make it soon!

Hi, that's not a big deal, u can part it in ratios..... chef has told as 50 gms corn flour to 200 gms sugar.... so, make it as 1 cup corn flout to 4 cups sugar, 2 cups clarified butter...... i do the same, and it really works.......

btw ghee is clarified butter. or u can use olive oil or butter.

I read only one genuine comment now. 99% of stupid people write the comments and like the videos without even try it. I tried it 6 times with exact instructions from him but i never could made real Karachi halwa which we get in rubbery texture from the shop. My recommendation to the viewers is that please dont waste your time and money if you want real chewy karchi halwa but if you just need sugary piece of cake go a head. Only reply to me if your tried it and you got real chewy karchi halwa.

Hell chef...I tried this but it didn't come in gelly form..after set this plate..it came out as burfi pieces. .plz tell me ..where I did mistake..I used 9 to 10 tablespoons of courn flour for 50 gm corn flour..because the measurements are diff for corn flour.everything I followed like you..plz tell
