Maybe he should read about how most of those other countries have been ravaged by foreign intervention over the past 7 decades, mostly led by the US. It’s an obvious logical fallacy that because wealthier countries have less violence means that more wealth CAUSES less violence. It’s the other way around. Countries that have less violence are more likely to become wealthy. Important distinction; it means throwing money at the problem would do nothing

It's definitely a multivariable and tons of other factors, and each country will be unique, but the root cause as Bassem pointed out is destabilization of these governments due to western influence.
