Of course. The title says it all. That was then (some of the best songs only available as demos), this is now (a great song only available as bonus). But c'mon ''Living Proof'' does sound like what they did in the 80s.
Lyrics: 8 years old, hammering my old go cart A two by four and a dream in my folks backyard The steering wheel was a rope when it broke I lost Life was a knife in my dream when then the wheels came off that was then, this Is now World keeps spinning round and round you're either up or you're upside down Every road has led me back around tears will fall and scars will fade you learn to live with the mess you've made a broken road still gets ya home somehow that was then, this is now Firing off kisses on all pistons in a little red dress a chrome plated heart teach ya somethin that ya never forget She take ya to the finish line but ya never gonna cross crashed on a dead end street when my wheels came off That Was Then, This Is Now World keeps spinning round and round you're either up or you're upside down Every road has led me back around tears will fall and scars will fade you learn to live with the mess you've made a broken road still gets ya home somehow that was then, this is now that was then, this is now Guitar Solo sometimes at night my mind plays tricks on me tells me that this dream just don't work out haunted by a ghost that I can't see that was then, this is now World keeps spinning round and round you're either up or you're upside down Every road has led me back around tears will fall and scars will fade you learn to live with the mess you've made a broken road still gets ya home somehow that was then, this is now that was then, this is now Guitar Solo
This the bonus track that is on the Japanese version of the album. All albums released in Japan have a bonus track. It is a standard marketing thing for the Japanese market.
I really liked I wrote you a song. But I agree that this song should have definitely made the album. One of the best songs they’ve written since 2005 IMO. I would have replaced “My First Guitar” with this song
They should've just had this song on the regular release... the album kind of has an empty spot without this song on it. It's a shame to deprive the general US public of this good song.
Good lyrics, pop music, but at the end coming a very good guitar solo. What was when we have wrote in 1986? Rock music. Now this is entertaining, but this is more better, than last albums.
It's usual that Jon picks good songs for bonus tracks ... only him knows why. LOL. Something makes me think that Richie is part of making this album... Nostalgic songs. Check also tracks Nothing, Neurotica, Into the echo, All hail the king, and others
Richie is gone and won't be back get over it please . Fed up with the crap Richie comments . He didn't want to come back he spoke to Jon twice in 11 years and the others once that should tell you everything you need to know
Does this band even rock anymore? All i hear from these guys is pop rock.... i'm sure they were a lot harder than this in the 80s. I think it went downhill from the 90's and onwards. Bon jovi (debut), slippery when wet and New jersey were the BEST albums they did and the most rocking. I'm not even sure if Jon will ever be able to sing "Wanted dead or alive" anymore without straining his voice. Sad but I think this band has had it's day.
I’m just glad. he got his voice back. he had surgery. just remember that. that a lot on a voice. he may not be able to sign his old songs. that good with me. I’m loving his album so far.
