Sherrybelle is the same lady who played on the Gunsmoke episode "Sweet and Sour". She wanted men to fight over her in that one too, lol. Marshal ran her out of town.
The Arnie charactor is a great addition in this episode. The show emphasizes that even a person with a more limited intelligence can be gentle and kind. Too bad too many people treat these people like trash. They are human as well and children of God the Almighty. The ones treating them badly are cowards.
@@gemox3225 In the story, he was guided by evil because his mental faculties were minimum, so the Jack-a---friends saw him as a tool and NOT a human being, so they were able to manipulate him to do things another would not. Take that into consideration before you badmouth someone, I am sure you are NOT perfect. You have weaknesses and downfalls. We ALL do. Myself included. 🤫
This episode is a true heartbreaker. As much as your heart breaks for Arnie, it is a wonder that he made it this far given his little comprehension of the world and is inability to adapt. It would appear that he is on the spectrum [ i.e., inability to interpret/understand social cues, lack of comprehension of humor etc.]. Because of this and his size he had been rejected all of his life. Even today without comparatively vast knowledge of mental compromise we often act just as badly as the townspeople with less excuse.
Wow! That's Leonard Nimoy playing the slick dude hanging out in the Virginia City saloon before his Spock days riding in the Star Ship Enterprise with Captain Kirk. This is another knockout wonderful episode of Bonanza. Every story in this long running TV series showcasing the bonds of family and friendship. Timeless human stories not restricted to 1860s Nevada, but as meaningful in the 21st century as they were in the days of the Old West or in the last half of the 20th century when this iconic TV show aired. Long live the legacy of the Cartwrights, father and sons! Yippee, yay!
Why do people have to be so cruel, yet it still happens today in our schools and kids don’t know how to cope. The bullies still get away why it and it can impact the victims for a very long time
Arnie just has to learn to have a thick skin sometimes and walk away from horseshit..its the best defense..I've been there done that..its hard sometimes..but..its better than going to jail.
Growing up in Dearborn, Michigan, I had the same issues. I was a skinny, non-fighter, who was razed, harassed, and was the butt end of a ton of bad comments and persecuted because of that. In high school, I had enough and learned to back fight by revenge. Not my most proud efforts, but I got back at the bullies by doing bad things to the bullies that could never be proven. Will not go into them, but after a while, they stopped bothering me because they knew I liked to revenge on them. It was not a proud time for me. I feel bad I had to fight back, just because a was a skinny weak person physically, so that the cowards would attack like they did. Now, as an adult, I treat everyone with respect and courtesy, no matter if they earned it or not. I guess coming back to Church teaching years ago, did me a world of good. Now I am a better person because of God showing me the way I have got to be.
I remember watching this as a kid and when saloon girl called Cal Bolder the ugliest man she had ever seen I was thinking "You need glasses". Instead of chasing after women he shound have taken Hoss as his boyfriend.LOL
I thought he should have diverted him from the wretchef ho by keeping him out of virginia city by giving him the spot of land and taking him to san fransisco where they always get into bogus adventures and get him a woman in san fransisco then if gay people already had san fransisco took over and hoss got in with them youd know if hes gay or not
I love to watch the old ones and catch bloopers and scene sets that are reused. Like at about 41:40. Hoss says where the guy might be. Tells pa but they don’t say to anyone. Sheriff says well you about ready to show us the way to granite point. Lol. Same time slot hoss rides up dismounts and walks a little bit to granite point to look across the water. Last show went up and came out at the sheepherders place and only water was a little pond where the girl played in the water.
how did the Sheriff know it was Granite point??? @42.30 -- Sheriff was never told where Hoss was headed - lol lol lol --- love these shows but really notice all the little errors
do you remember the song Memphis by Johnny Rivers ? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IAc0FKyBgks.html Chuck Berry too ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KrbPlr4Wskc.html
Here in the west we're livin' in the best...Bonanza. With a saddle and a rope and a hat full of hope we planted our family tree. Hoss and Joe and Adam know every rock and pine. No one works, fights, or eats like those boys of mine...Bonanzaaaa
Bev Taylor :) Here in The West were in the best BONANZA with the friendliest fightingest lovingest band that ever set foot on The Promised Land And were happier than them all!!!!!!!!! that's why we call it....... BONANZA BONANZA BONANAZA.......BONANZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One thing that bugs me, just a minor nit-pick. In the scene where the posse was going out to where Arnie was....How did the sheriff know where Arnie was? He clearly said " 'Bout ready to lead us out to this Granit Point?" but neither Ben or Joe told them where Arnie was. I dont think the sheriff heard Hoss tell them because Hoss wasnt talking very loud and the sheriff was too far away. Just something that bugged me.
After hoss and arnie stopped fighting they laughed so in hoss personality kindness loving gentle giant of a man😂 saying to arnie youre near strong as i am and you smell nearly as bad😂😂😂😂
She just had to keep the insults coming. If this had been an gun smoke episode, Miss Kitty would have made her shut up and sit down . Then she would have sent Sam the bartender to get Matt.
I thought I was the only one wondered abt that.Maybe if they had just put a shirt on him,he would have felt better abt himself. It made no sense. Most times the person was cleaned up,given a fresh set of clothes. Its almost like he was still being groomed to fail. Not like he was sat down and taught anything-to read, etc. Just taken and used for his physical capabilities mostly.smh.I understand somewhat the point of the story...but seems a dumb storyline... somewhat😏
they just made an oops. little Joe and pa only knew where he was. but when the sheriff went over and talk to them They didn't say where he was but the sheriff said take me to this granites point. but he hadn't even been told that
I wish they had that rousing vibrant theme familiar to everyone! I watched Bonanza from day one and don't remember the theme song played here. Just maybe, I blocked it out when it was superceeded by the music that came after that has become the iconic soundtrack for Bonanza?
@Ucallit 71 They need to make the AT40/CT40 franchise free domain, the host there keeps getting suspended.....alas, though, greedy Premiere Radio Networks refuse to do so, and the battle goes on....hopefully we will not lose a great channel the American Top 40 channel....all should boycott anything dealing with the Premiere Radio Network.......
