"Knowing" is the Hebrew verb "yādaʿ" which means the action of distinguishing. There's not a single verse that claims man is only capable of choosing evil. There are tons of scripture that state man desires evil, yet nothing that limits his ability to only choose evil. From the very beginning, and right after the fall, man is recognized by God as having the ability to do either.

Just as the "Kingdom of God" (The Gospel that Jesus came preaching) is rarely preached from pulpits or discussed, the "New Covenant" is neglected to an even larger degree. Matthew 26:28 "For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." NKJB Jesus' blood ratifies the New Covenant. No man can repent without him and he has to elect you in order for that to be done....not the other way around lest any man should boast. You have to be born agin. He gives the Faith to begin with. If we were given free will and created in the image of God; God’s grace is borne of love for us. Love is not forced, we choose and we can reject it. You’re wrong: the purpose of humanity is not to test our will, but to glorify God. This is why you’re having trouble understanding what the Scriptures actually teaches - you have the wrong presupposition. I’d wager that you cannot deal with texts like this in Romans 9 because it demonstrates that God’s main concern is not you or anybody else for that matter, but HIS GLORY. “So then, it does not depend on human desire or exertion, but on God who shows mercy.
