Bonetrousle is such a silly song that it's hard to imagine the Undertale version of it being the Deltarune battle theme. I think it probably used the same leitmotif but had completely different instrumentation.

One interesting thing toby mentions in this interview is that back when chapter 1 was released he was looking forward to “having a character learn a spell their really bad at and their being no reason to have them use it at first but the fact that they keep practicing it is really wholesome”. Jevil's personality was more serious in the Original deltarune script back then in 2012 so Heartache was fitting for him

I found a little detail in Deltarune ,many might missed. If you go to your menu in the dark world and go to magic. Were is a chance that a dog show up at one of kris's stats.

I cant imagine that the songs as we know them were planned for deltarune. The songs just fit way too much with their place in undertale. I would rather guess that the base melody was planned but Toby made the songs fit way better through slight changes in tone and instrumentation

Bonetrousle is mostly good cause it's a boss theme, you don't hear it often and it's be annoyingly repetitive if it was, it takes a good song to be a battle theme you listen to a ton... Also heartache as jevils theme is funni
