BONNIE AND CLYDE’S Final Days

This video follows in Bonnie and Clyde’s footsteps the final months of their life. Knowing it was coming, Clyde and Bonnie tied up loose ends with family, friends, and former friends. This video describes the last visit home, final jobs, and even the location of Bonnie’s last haircut. It follows the lawmen as they closed the net around them and is also a detailed look at the aftermath of Gibsland and the crowds that descended on Arcadia. Sources consulted include books by authors John Neal Phillips, Ted Hinton, Winston G. Ramsey and Jeff Guinn. I do make an error when describing the arms used by the law. The information came from Ted Hinton’s account which he gave forty years later. I should have checked the information against another source and apologize for the error.

You've worked so hard on all your Bonnie and Clyde episodes. The funeral episodes were all great. I saw the first one before it got demonitized. Your determination to keep it on , redoing so many times, was admirable. I've been watching you from the first of your episodes of Jack the Ripper series. I wish you the best and success because you deserve it. Bravo Madame Morbid.

What a shame that the cemetery is fighting Raylene about moving Bonnie. And she is Bonnie's Great Niece. A shame. They must want to hold onto her remains because of how famous she has become.

Very interesting video on Bonnie and Clyde. Always been interested in their story. They robbed a bank in Poteau Oklahoma and my great grandpa and my grandpa who was in there cashing a check at the time. I remember my grandpa who was 14 at the time of the robbery as always told the family years later that he thought Clyde would be taller than that.

Very well researched and presented. You have a great voice and your research was extensive. Matching the current scenes with overlays is a nice touch! I will mention that some sources claim that Bonnie fired the coup de grace shot into the face of one of the two highway patrolmen. There is also some debate about Ivey's location during the ambush. He was allegedly handcuffed to a tree and never entered the roadway. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed your video!
@MMorbid
@MMorbid Месяц назад
I discuss that issue of Bonnie’s being accused of murder in my Grapevine episode. Ivey being handcuffed to a tree is in Ted Hinton’s book. Sadly he was suffering with dementia when he wrote it, and he died before he finished it. His son finished it and would have told the stories as his father told him. How much did he exaggerate when telling stories to his son? Basically I went with the version told by historians. I read multiple books by different authors and none seemed to accept that version as truth. Hinton also claimed Bonnie was still alive and died in his arms. There’s no way that can possibly be true. It’s sad to not be able to trust his account. I wish he had written it before his health declined so much. Thanks for watching. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

I enjoyed listening to your story of the final days of Bonnie and Clyde, I have seen alot of the photos you had shown, I was curious on what happened to the Methven home, obviously they The Methvens had either sold it or maybe it was destroyed by angry friends of Bonnie and Clyde. Thank you once again.
@MMorbid
@MMorbid 10 месяцев назад
Are you talking about the site I went to? The Methvins were squatting in that house. There are rumors Clyde wanted to buy it and settle there (a fantasy if true). The owners had it torn down in the 60s or 70s, nobody seems to know precisely when. And it was basically because of gawkers and Bonnie and Clyde tourists like me that they did, lol. For a while people weren’t even certain of its location but experts seem pretty certain this was it, at this point. The owner of the ambush museum is who took me there, so I’m pretty sure he knows his stuff. Thanks for watching!

haven't seen you in a while and am writing you before viewing this publication. It is possible I may have offered my hand and heart to you in my last correspondence. Seriously I am subscribed but you aren't coming up in my offerings til now and it caught my eye right off the bat. Both my gramps owned country stores in WV during the depression and they both told me they had a lot more to worry about than B&C but copy cats. The real saving grace was that the robbers knew the store had no money either, they sold on credit and barter. A story that might interest you is the game store owners played with the government on sugar rationing. They had bootleggers that they had to supply in bulk as they were the only ones who possessed cash in any quantity and were their absolutely best customers. Intricate times even for country store owners and maybe a good subject for that brain.

I haven’t gone anywhere but have had quite an upload drought, some out of my control. I was gone a week in Florida, worked a week on a new video, got sick and totally lost my voice for nearly two weeks, worked one more week and finished my video only to have the computer flag me singing a public domain song in my own voice!! So I have to sit on it for 30 days while I dispute the copyright claim. It’s obvious the claimant is going to do nothing and let the 30 days run out. So it appears I disappeared but I swear I haven’t. Put up a new upload yesterday, about a killer hitchhiker. In two weeks maybe I can FINALLY release that other video about Elvis as a little boy in Tupelo. I went there on my way to Florida. Good point about copycats, btw, they were often more trigger happy than Clyde.

I don't like being pedantic because they are in fact dead however, I'd like to settle this debate about weaponry used by the posse. Ted Hinton was the only member with a BAR.The reason they had a BAR at all was because it was Hinton's task if you will, to disable the vehicle to avoid another escape. The BAR was the only weapon capable of that. The others all had either Remington 8's or 11's. In fact, Oakley had to borrow his from the local dentist. But like I said, it doesn't really matter what they had.

They were embalmed because firstly the bodies had to be transported to Dallas in some pretty awful heat, also authorities wanted an open casket public funeral to prove not only that they got them, but that there would be no doubt that they got the right people.

Torture, rape, killing children…Clyde killed to get away and stay alive. He took no pleasure in it and would never do the things the people I just listed would. He was capable of kindness and not a psychopath. Had I met him I wouldn’t have been afraid of being harmed, but Billy Cook would have scared the hell out of me. I think it's sad that he could have been a fantastic race car driver because he was known for outdriving anyone involved ,, Or a law enforcement firearms instructor because he knew how to rock a B.A.R. and a shotgun better than most.Thats what made him so dangerous and hard to catch

I met a guy at the ambush marker who said his grandparents did business with Ivy Methvin. His exact words were, according to his grandparents anyway, “Ivy Methvin was an asshole.” Lol That’s why I think any number of people may have had motive to run him over than just the Barrows. Ivy was killed by a hit and run driver in the 1940s. Thanks for watching!

My grandmother died in 1975. She was driving when it happened but I think she got the car stopped, didn’t wreck. She was in distress of course, but whoever encountered her stole her wedding ring. With today’s medical advances she could have been saved. Basically humanity is monsters. I always say I hate people but like most of the people I meet.

@@highcountrydelatite either way it got stolen! But some things were returned to the family. Famously Clyde’s death shirt was returned. And police stole things all the time. They divvied up everything left at Joplin, for example. As you say, forget evidence, they just kept everything for themselves. An Iowa policeman stole Motorcycle Officer Tom Persell’s custom grip revolver. He begged Clyde to give it back as it cost a month’s wages, only to have an Iowa cop steal it from him when it was abandoned at Dexfield. In some ways the cops were just as bad. That gun bothers me so much. I can’t believe one officer would do that to another. Tom never got it back and it is now lost to history. Maybe the thief’s ancestors are ashamed to admit their loved one did that. But somewhere, poor Officer Persell’s gun is hiding in an Iowa attic. If it ever surfaces I firmly believe it should go to Officer Persell’s family. Not that it does Tom any good now. Tom was from where I live. I’ve met lots of people who knew him, so maybe that’s why I feel strongly about it. Clyde hadn’t yet figured out he could arm himself by knocking off armories. If Persell had encountered him later I’m pretty sure Clyde would have given it back to him.

More surprised because I didn’t see it, lol. I actually really like spiders and feel bad when I destroy their webs. I go out of my way to leave them alone. Orb weavers are my favorite. They build their webs new every night, so hopefully that’s what that web was and I didn’t hurt the spider. Thanks for watching!
