Demo of the classic performed by Sinéad O'Connor for "In The Name Of The Father" OST (1993). Written by Bono, Gavin Friday, Maurice Seezer. #Bono #U2 #Demo
I cry each time I listen to that song : a masterpiece for a wonderful movie about a true story ; it was the Guildford four, and after the Maguire seven in 1974 ; Irish people injustly condemned by the English Justice just because they were Irish ; the English Police and Court failed one again, admitting their mistakes much too late, as too often !!! RIP Gerry and Giuseppe !
This is fantastic!! I love this song. I have no words to describe how much I love this song. Bono sings so beautifully. It has an auroa about it. I can listen to this song over and over again.
Espero que você esteja feliz agora I hope you're happy now Eu nunca poderia fazer você assim I could never make you so Você era um homem duro You were a hard man Não é mais difícil neste mundo No harder in this world Você me deixou com frio e me deixou duro You made me cold and you made me hard E você me fez o ladrão do seu coração And you made me the thief of your heart O inverno é frio, oh Winter is cold, oh Mas você está ainda mais frio But you're colder still E pela primeira vez And for the first time Eu sinto que você é meu I feel like you're mine Eu compartilho você com aquele I share you with the one Quem vai consertar o que desmorona Who will mend what falls apart E fechar os olhos And turn a blind eye Para o ladrão do seu coração To the thief of your heart Ah, você perdeu Oh, you lost Ah, você perdeu tudo Oh, you lost all Você perdeu tudo You lost all Você perdeu tudo You lost all Eu nunca vou lavar essas roupas I'll never wash these clothes Eu quero manter a mancha I want to keep the stain Seu sangue para mim é precioso Your blood to me is precious Nem eu derramaria em vão Nor would I spill it in vain Seu espírito canta Your spirit sings Embora seus lábios nunca se separem Though your lips never part Cantando só para mim Singing only to me O ladrão do seu coração The thief of your heart Ah, você perdeu Oh, you lost Ah, você perdeu Oh, you lost Ah, você perdeu tudo Oh, you lost all Perdeu tudo Lost all Ah, você perdeu Oh, you lost Ah, você perdeu tudo Oh, you lost all Perdeu tudo Lost all
Here's a duet of Bono & Sinead O'Conner singing "You Made Me the Thief of Your Heart". I hope they release an official version as a bonus track someday! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_Xd1i7Lujrc.html
Amazing and tender version, and yet, Sinéad’s is so powerful. It was generous of Bono to let the song he’d co-written be interpreted by another artist besides himself for the film’s soundtrack. Does anyone know what he’s singing from 3:17-3:20? In the Sinéad version it’s “…Though your lips never part” but Bono seems to be saying something else, no?
As a U2 fan i have to say that this song for me is more connected to Sinnead! But with Bono it's not bad,but prefer Sinnead O'connors version. Speaking of movie sountrack, The main title " In the name of the Father " by Bono and Gavin Friday is just fantastic!
I always thought Bono had a nice voice and he does on U2 songs, but compared to Sinead's version of this, he sounds like some two bit lounge singer in some Dublin bar!
It's a demo version, he wrote the song for Sinead and here he was trying to sing in high pitch to adapt to her voice. Obviously Sinead 's version is the best, because it's the final version. Here it was just work in progress.
