This is good. Even in today’s Gospel some of the Disciples were so shocked at the concept of consuming our Lords Body and Blood they left Him and they had seen the miracles! Peter replied to the Lord when asked if they would leave also, where would we go? A difficult to understand teaching then and now. 2000 years later we have to add the accident of time to the teaching and make sense of it. Thank you for breaking it down - ❤️

Hilarious Fr Bonaventure and his philosophical analogy of transubstantiation

It never fails to amaze me that people who will so readily and eagerly accept zen koans as the perfect medium through which to try to grasp the ineffable will scoff at the concept of transubstantiation, which is the ultimate koan, if you will. The only thing I can think of is that most parish priests, unfortunately, don’t teach children, as they grow into teens and young adults, about this non-dual, both/and, concept. Non Catholics, self-described non-religious but “spiritual” people, and those who dabble in Buddhism, should take a closer look at transubstantiation.

You don't need to swear an oath that you believe... you back up your belief with attendence,, your reception of communion "the body of Christ"-"Amen", and by saying the Mass.
