Great stuff, Dale - most definitely a novel view for me and probably many other viewers of yours... i.e. "us lot"! I'm one of those people who prefers to travel facing backwards on main line trains, so I found this strangely relaxing. Thank you for seizing the opportunity to record that journey, and in particular the view of the Aldwych branch line near Holborn (especially as it's something I didn't get to see in my time with LU). I hope you're having a good week!

In 1982, I boarded a central line train at Epping bound for Heathrow via Holborn. I was in the rear car, and the driver who was changing ends, left the rear cab door open for me so i could observe the rear view. He asked me to close the door when id had enough. I decided to shut the door around leytonstone when the carriage became busy. It was a. great view and i really appreciate the drivers trust in me. i was surprised to see an indicated 65mph on the speedo between Loughton and Snaresbrook even though traveling in reverse. I'd really love to experience a cab ride from the front, but i'm rarely in the essex area these days, Thanks Dale for these videos. very eye opening.

I always get excited when you pass my home station, Barons Court. I've travelled on the Piccadilly Line all my life, first on the 1938 stock ( my favourite). It never occurred to me when I left school to apply for a job on the Underground, I wish I had though. I do enjoy watching your videos. I did once get a view from the front cab of the 1938 stock on a heritage run as it came out of the tunnel and into Barons Court - I was so happy I forgot to film it.

Excellent video. I learned that (1) The platforms at some of the stations (such as Barons Court) are much longer than the trains (I assume this is to accommodate the longer District Line trains) (2) I didn't know that there was a stop sign or a fixed red signal at the end of every platform heading in the "wrong" direction. Great footage of the Aldwych branch as well.

Loving the different perspective Dale, it must have felt weird having your train hijacked (All be it for a good reason) and you end up watching where you have been rather than where you are going. Has that ever happened to you before🤔. Bonus for us though we got this extra video. 👍. Considering you were using your phone the picture and sound quality was excellent (The lens quality is usually somewhat better than a Go Pro) and you must have a "Gimble hand" hardy any shake at all. 😲.

Great footage, I think I like it better. Have you looked into extra lenses or mods for the GO PRO that would give the same Depth of Field/Focal Length as your mobile. Some video makers use the phone as Camera and it serves no function as phone ( no service ). You can get all manner of mods and attachments which would make it more or less a camera rather than a phone. Of course your job comes first so it may not be an option to ask managers to pass such a device. Anyway, thanks Dale, the video is looking fab.
