@@louiskuhn8738 When I purchased the tablet, I got the keyboard slim with it. I think that keyboard is a good option. But I did get it for half the price. The Ultra Book Cover Keyboard is a good option as well if you need a track pad, it's $150 more though but a better stand. Not sure if this helps.
@RADERTECH I guess the comment above was in response to your worry that keyboard will be active if foldad over the back of the tablet. This is not a Bluetooth keyboard and relies on physical connection with the tablet wia pins. That's why it won't work (and rightly so) if folded over. And yes, you won't be able to type on it if it's not dead straight in its place. Galaxy tab s6 has also non-bluetooth keyboard cover that connects via pins and is held in place by magnets but even if you fold the keyboard over the back of the tablet, it remains connected via pins. Yet somehow the keys are disabled and you won't accidentally type when your fingers rest against the keys as you hold the tablet. Keyboard cover for tab s9 uses simpler solution - to fold it over you need to pull connectors apart.
Is there a setting to setup the cover keyboard? I want to check the buttons settings. Evrytime i input the @ key a different symbol appears. If type tge $ sign, the £ sign appears. Must be busted or what?
Hi, thanks for stopping by. Don't worry, there's not an actual issue, you'll just need to change the language for the Phiscial Keyboard when you have keyboard attached. With it attached, go into Settings -> General Management -> Physical Keyboard, and there you'll see shortcuts for switching between languages, along with a few other useful settings.
Thanks for stopping by! It has little rubber type nubbies that end up touching the very top part of the screen, but more like the bezel area. I wouldn't worry much about it.
There's actually 2 little nubs at the bottom that rest against the screen, instead of the key themselves. Sorry for not showing that well in the video. They seem to be made of a hard rubber or very soft plastic, I haven't noticed any micro scratches or anything where the little nubs would rub againts the screen. Thanks for stopping by!
After the preorder period, it seems they are now offering this for free. I've had the full book cover keyboard with the touchpad since the tab s7+ and also with the tab s8 ultra - still no offers for it. Trying to compare dishing out over $300 for the same kind again for the tab s9 ultra or just going with the slim cover which is now being offered for free. The comment by @adi7407 regarding the pins damaging the display is a good point. Also, from your video it seems that changing the angle of the device isn't possible (correct me if I am wrong). I appreciate you making this video.
I'd probably just lean on the free one they're now offering, and pair it up with a bluetooth mouse when you need trackpad support. I'd start with that, and then consider the expensive book cover keyboard if it doesn't work out for you. I've always used the full on book cover keyboard with the trackpad as well, this is the first year I've tried the slim one. It's actually better than I was expecting, and it takes up a smaller footprint on your desk, which is a nice bonus I wasn't expecting. Thanks for stopping by!

I had this book cover for tab s7 and you have to be careful because those pins can damage your display. the best solution is the standard book cover and, if you want, the one with the keyboard and pad.
That's a very good point, you do have to be careful with this one. I'll def keep that in mind. I agree on the book cover keybaord option being the best option. That's what I have with the tab s8 ultra and had with my tab s7+. Sadly, they didn't offer any deals on the book cover keyboard during pre-order time, just the slim keyboard. Sort of lame actually. Hi, thanks for stopping by. It should automatically work. If not, please go in to General Settings, and see if it shows options for a physical keyboard once you attach the slim keyboard. If it persists, I'd reach out to Samsung.
I'm really sorry to hear that, there's been a couple other folks that have mentioned the same thing this past week. It's most likely in need of an update, of which they should be pushing soon. In the meantime, please check for updates in the Samsung Galaxy Store and update all of them. Once updated, try plugging the keyboard in and waiting for a few seconds. If an update is available, a small pop-up will show up on the bottom of the home screen. Once updated, it should work fine. You'll also want to make sure the Samsung Keyboard is set as your default keyboard in the General Management settings. Having it set to GBoard and other 3rd party keyboards can interfere with the Book Cover keyboard at times.
Oh yeah, very much so. I did a video a long time ago showing the tab S8 ultra book cover keyboard being used in the lap, and it handled it pretty well. It's even better with this smaller tab s9 setup. Slightly different keyboard since that wasn't the slim model, but still the same result. Thanks for watching!
The keyboard cover on tab s9 is a piece of junk, I replaced the cover twice. After a couple days, typing is chore. It is so bad, typing on it is crammed but the worst thing is that it it hits multiple times when you supposedly want to type once. Using the touch keyboard to write this. Typing a becomes aaa, hitting backspace deletes three characters. Why make so defective product?

ever had any issues with the keyboard disconnecting from the tablet while connected? sometimes when i leave mine connected over night and turn on the tablet, the i find the keyboard disconnected. i'm not sure if this is a common occurence or i have a faulty keyboard.

Hm, interesting. I'd suggest going into your General settings and make sure the Samsung Keyboard is set as the default. I know it sounds weird, but having a 3rd party software keyboard set as the default can interfere with the input from the physical keyboard being attached. You can also try resetting your keyboard settings, which will aslo clear any of the installed drivers for the physical keyboard, thus re-installing them after the reset. Just opened S9+ and slim keyboard cover. Noticed that the keyboard doesn't type right away. I have to detach and reattach to the pins. Will appreciate any ideas or help please Thanks
Hmm, that sounds really odd, it shouldn't be having like that. You should notice key presses within a second or 2 of hooking it up. If this continues, I'd reach out to Samsung for a replacement. I would say that maybe there's a firmware update out for it, because they do get updated just like your device, but you would be prompted for the update when you connected it if that was the case.

I'd try doing into your general settings, and making sure the Samsung keyboard is set to be default. If that doesn't help, try resetting your keyboard settings.
