If you would like to see my video on making DIY Tassels for Journals, have a look at this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pPraqh1SvDw.html
My Mom had a ton of 50's and 60's jewelry but I didn't keep it when she passed since I was unaware of dangles and junk journals at that time - yikes so wish now I had kept it, She wore alot of clip on earrings that would have made great things now! So everyone remember to keep a journal eye at garage/thrift sales and don't let things get away that you will have regrets over. Great video once again Natasha!
Oh gosh, all those treasures gone! BUT you didn't need them at that time of your life. Things will come into your life as you need them. Better to be that way, rather than hoard everything and anything that "might" come in handy :) Right? Thank you for watching and commenting Cheryl!!
Cheryl Rymer same here! I was only a teenager when my mom passed so I left her cool clothes from the 60’s, all her jewelry and vintage photos, letters etc. I would give anything for a box of her stuff! But now it’s all gone, my dad donated her stuff to the thrift store years ago.
The beads are threaded into a jewellery making pin. There's a head at one end of the pin to prevent the beads falling off. At the other end, use a pair of jewellery making pliers to turn the end into a loop. Make sure you close the loop very neatly so it won't fall off the safety pin.
You can try prying the loop apart with your pliers - side to side like a spring, not straightening - enough to slip a jump ring over the front point, down around the loop and to the back of the safety pin! You can try to squeeze the coil back together, but I usually don't bother. Good luck!
Ello, ello, Thanks for all the wonderful ideas. How do you get the beads on the stationary side (the non-closure side) of the clothes pin? Btw, here in the states we call them safety pins. We call clothes pins the kind used for hanging laundry, often made of wood with a metal spring to open. 💗
You are right. They are safety pins hehe, I think we call the clothes pins "pegs". The charms I used jump rings to attach to the stationary side - no other way to get it on there I'm afraid :(
I watch you daily. You are an Angel. Also, you have a divine ability to organize, and condense and teach ideas. You are a genius. Thank you. Ever, ever so much.
Love these ideas!! PLEASE do a detailed tutorial on how yo bead the shortened spines (I’ve searched for Jenni Bellie’s I’ve seen her similar journal, but no info on HOW it’s done. Thanx!!!
Thank you for allowing us to take screen shots of your instructions, to jot the memory after watching the video. You are so creative, but what I appreciate most about you is that you encourage people to use what they have on hand, or preloaded items, rather than buying expensive products all the time, like so many do. Thanks again.
I really enjoyed seeing all the different ways to ad bling to journals - I will be searching our thrift shops, and this summer our garage sales, to find some treasures to create with - you gave me lots of good ideas. You shared the large safety pin with all of the bling attached and I was wondering if you could share how you got the charms on past the little loop in the end of the safety pin? I have safety pins but none without that little loop so it would be great to know. :) Thank you for another great video!
thank you for this. am putting together a kit for a 7 yr old girl who hasreduced immunity so she will probably have to stay at home for a while. love the picture hanging fixtures idea xxx
What interesting ways to use beads and old jewelry. I love the chain closure . You blew my mind when you took the piece off the green clip and looped it through the chain of the bracelet. I had no idea those came off, duh!
Love love all your videos! Binge watching 😊. Natasa, what kind of gold beads do you use for your paper clips? Do they tarnish? I see some gold plated, some brass, and other metals on Amazon.
Thank you Maria! The gold beads I have are plastic. They came off a very old belly dancing belt/skirt thing, and all the other bits were chipped and tarnished, but the little beads all still look brand new and perfect :)
You always have so many ideas and are so patient when you are teaching us to “see” things differently. I can tell how much you love this. It comes through loud and clear💕
So much fun! I saw a bunch of rolled paper beads on one of the spines and I think that's a fab idea for those paper scraps so many of us hanging around, without adding a lot to the book's weight :-) Thanks for all the inspirations - you're so generous sharing all your ideas and techniques!
I love the tassels! So pretty! I’m going to make these up for everyone I gave junk journals and treasure books that I’ve made for in the last 2ish years! I think they would be nice for key chains and present toppings! I just love these ideas! You made me laugh out loud with your confession too! Big belly laugh! Crocodile clamps, “I totally made that up. Ribbon clamps.” Too cute! Thanks
Natasa!!💓💓😘 Loved this tutorial!! Love ALL Your Journals!! I would like to (See) a Demonstration of “How” you got those beads onto the Large Safety Pin!! As you have to go around that loop at the end of the Safety pin!!?? Please.. Show us How to Do this!!😍🙌🙏
LOVE the jewelry ideas you presented. My husband, on the other hand, hates this idea because now I am going to be hunting for jewelry at all the thrift shops, and we all know what the end result can be from one of those visits……!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a question. How do you attach beads to the side of the safety pin that doesnt open? I would greatly appreciate it if you quickly tell me how you do that. 🙏🏻 Like everyone else, i too would love a full tutorial on making these. Seeing how this video was from 3 years ago, ill have to go through your videos to see if you did actually make a tutorial. But once again, thank you so much for sharing this with us. Everything you do is absolutely gorgeous. You are such an inspiration. 🥰
Great video again. Not sure though how you put the charms on the clothes pin, with the little circle, how did you get them over the circle middle? Thanks again
Really I love your videos all of it and I loved the junk journals that you show on this video can you make a tutorial to show us how make it with all details(binding) & this beautiful jewellery p and this special style ❤😍
Can you do a tutorial on how you did the beads on the little lavender book ? It is so beautiful ! If you could do a video on how you made that book that would be wonderful ! Thanks
I have that same multicoloured beaded necklace that you show near the start of the video! No idea where I bought it, tho. I love it so much, it won't be used for journal jewellery lol!
I bought coiless safety pins , on eBay , just type in coil-less safety pins 🧷, and they don’t have the coil at the bottom so your beads can go around to the other side of the pin , they are so useful 😘
What gorgeous additions to your journals! A tutorial showing the process of each of these examples would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for sharing your talent!
Natasa, you are a natural teacher...your videos are always so clear, clever and entertaining. Gorgeous ideas and great that you were able to show them being used on various journals. xox
Love your ideas. I haven't made a junk journal yet, but I'm looking forward to making one. I have covered an inexpensive spiral bound notebook using your tutorial to make it look like leather. That was so cool. The finished result looks great. It looks like leather. I was beside myself! :) Thanks for all the inspiration Natasa. ❤️
You are truly amazing!! Soooooo inspirational. I haven’t even finished my first cup of coffee and you’ve inspired me to dash to my craft room and make book jewelry. My brain is exploding with inspiration from you. Thank you!
Kind of cool seeing that seed beads on safety pins are still a thing! Waaaaaaay back in my grade school days (40 years or so ago) we used to make them and attach them to our shoelaces. That's the best way to use them - string them on ribbon or laces.
@@heatherbuechelartistry That's right! I had forgotten we called them that! Aging - first thing to go is....um I can't remember... but something goes lol!
Amazing your collection of ideas for dingly-dangly 😍😍😍 Thank you for sharing it with us 💖 Hugs from Lake Constance 💐 P. S. Who makes 👎🏻 ??? It’s difficult to understand this people 👻
