Julius Caesar and the Romans conquered Gaul, a loose federation of tribes in modern France, 500 years later when Rome fell, the Franks (where France gets its name) invaded as they were pushed out of their own lands by the Huns and others...the Saxons/Anglos/Jutes also got pushed out of their homelands, but they had ships to invade Britain...glad you are back! hope you finish editing the season, can't imagine how time consuming it is, hope season 2 gets picked up
@@ReactandRoamwithKayla Germany, as do the Saxons and angles, the Jutes come from Denmark, they are basically the same peoples, all being direct neighbors with one another, in times of trouble tribes would unite into larger groups, and in times of peace they divide into smaller tribes, the Franks eventually become the superpower of Europe after the fall of Rome...they are the ones, led by Charles (the hammer) Martel that stopped the expansion of Islam into mainland Europe from Spain in 732 at the battle of Tours...Charlemagne was a Frank, he becomes the emperor of western and central Europe and a champion of Christianity, it is believed that his brutal wars with the pagans on his northern border (Denmark) kicked off the conflict that led to the Viking invasions a century or so later
