This book sounds great, added to my TBR. Several book-tubers recently have been talking about purging their book collections and I’m feeling inspired. As I get older, I find I need or want less things and I have downsized quite a bit but I do struggle with getting rid of my books. I love your idea of not buying a book until you are ready to read it! Great review as always! ❤
This book is amazing and I hope you enjoy it! Have they?! Surprisingly, I don’t want a lot of booktube 🤣. It’s been so … freeing to get rid of stuff and this new policy of mine with buying books makes purchasing books so much more fun. Gives me something to look forward to.
ofc the word 'asylum' has at least two meanings: One refers to an institution designed to house patients experiencing mental turmoil. Another meaning is a place or dimension where a beleaguered person finds safety. It seems to me that the difference between those two divergent ideas is upon whom the benefit is conferred. Is the institution there to protect the patient, or to protect society from the patient?
Oh I'll definitely be picking this up sometime soon now! I read Girl, Interrupted earlier this month, and enjoyed probably isn't the right word because it's rather harrowing, but it's a great read.
@@alanaestelle2076 I finished it Friday. It was pretty good. The writing style took some getting used to initially. The commentary was spot on. It did its job.
@@alanaestelle2076 The Vanishing Half is sort of the kind of thing I imagine you writing, or Gone with the wind- a sort of history major , well-researched but ficticious tale.
