oh my gosh i was the same way in high school and frances was such a relatable character and i loved her so much!! and her mom was amazing and also related so much to my mom !! the comparison of aled’s mom to stress at school was so spot on !!! the depression rep was insane and i was so happy with the way oseman portrayed it! i’m so happy you loved this book so much! it was such a great book to buddy read and i’m so happy you loved it 🧡🧡🧡🧡

The thing I don't appreciate is that neither Aled nor the book ever acknowledges that they were wrong to blame Frances for what happened (and he never apologized to her either). I really hated that. Like, I completely understand why he did what he did, and why he thought what he thought, but the fact that he doesn't acknowledge it and apologize for it to the end really rubbed me the wrong way. Frances kept thinking he was right to have done that to the end. Other than that, I loved everything about the book and wholeheartedly agree with you! Aled's depression was so similar to mine, and I saw my teenage self so much in Frances... this book really hit different 💕

that’s actually a really great point! i feel like when i was reading it i just assumed there was this unspoken thing between frances and aled and they both knew aled regretted how he reacted but i completely agree it would have been nice to have an on-page apology

Yes yes yes! I think the feeling of being seen by an author is so important and having our own identities represented well in fiction validates all of those feelings! I'm so glad we read this book, it really was beautiful and I'm psyched for Loveless too!

YESSSS im so glad you loved radio silence because it's so good and one of my faves!! i only read it for the first time a few months ago so the two of us are just late to the hype together LOL oooh i didn't think about aled's mom kind of representing that stress of succeeding in school that's so interesting!!! the convention part at the end was so special :') the whole book was just so good and special and wonderful!!!!

I think that we should have more books in which a friendship between a guy and a girl doesn't evolve into romantic love. As much as I love the friends to lovers trope I feel we need to normalise boy/girl friendships in books
