Bookish person logic: If you’re being prodigal and buying books with a person you love, you’re technically not spending money but you’re spending quality time. One of the best feelings in the world is doing a bookseller’s job. I would call the manager and tell them to reprimand the worker (if I was a Karen), but I can’t because their job is too entertaining 😭

Hiya, I'm also about to read the Lies we Sing to the Sea. Penelope was the wife of Odysseus and she was faithful (didn't cheat) whilst he was travelling for many years. Her maids however were not faithful, so they were hanged. I don't know for certain if that's why Poseidon is being rude, but it might be what the book is playing on.

I’m not the biggest fan of smut either and they have a lot. I’ve finished the book and I’m giving it a 3 star rating but if I didn’t read it bc of my friend I would Have given it 2.5 stars

too many things but in short: at the end of 2023 I stared struggling again with su*c*dal thoughts in combo with my ED, and ih March it all was too much and I decided to go back into a mental health hospital
